Wolves edge Moose in first game of season

PALMER — The Eagle River Wolves snuck out of the Palmer Ice Arena with a 4-3 overtime win over the Palmer Moose on Tuesday.

Eagle River scored with 8.2 seconds left in regulation to tie the score, and netted the game-winner early in the tiebreaker.

Sophomore Ivan Good scored twice and senior Tyler Isaacs added a goal for the Moose. Senior Jonas Naegele led PHS with a pair of assists. Good, Isaacs and Stephen Acher were also credited with assists.

The Moose return to the ice to play West Anchorage at the MacDonald Arena in Eagle River at 7 p.m. tonight. In other prep hockey action, the Houston Hawks face the Colony Knights tonight at 5 p.m. at the Curtis C. Menard II Memorial Ice Arena in Wasilla. The Wasilla Warriors travel to Anchorage to face South tonight at 7 p.m. at the Ben Boeke Arena.
