Students can get vaccinations Saturday By Frontiersman staffThe first H1N1 vaccination clinic for students of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Colony High School. To receive a vaccine, students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Shot records are not required, as the district has this information on file for all its students, unless there have been recent updates to this record. The shots are voluntary, and the district is not encouraging or discouraging vaccination, spokeswoman Catherine Esary said. The clinic is the first of three put on by the district. The second will be Nov. 21, and the third will be Dec. 12, both at the same time and location as Saturday’s. The clinics are only for students attending schools in the district. The Mat-Su Public Health Clinic will hold mass vaccinations for the general public at later dates. See the Sunday issue of the Frontiersman for a story on the event. |
