Robin Belzer Hammitt

Robin Hammitt, a beautiful person, left this world after a four-year battle with multiple myeloma cancer, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Nov. 2.

Robin, 56, was born the third child of Roy “Max” Belzer and Elizabeth Hjelvik Belzer on Jan. 17, 1953. She attended grade school in Musselshell, Mont., and Bozeman, Mont., and graduated in 1973 from Bozeman Senior High.

She lived in many places around the U.S., but spent most of her adult life in Alaska. She moved back to Montana in 2007 so she could be close to her family.

She married her sweetheart and friend, Dale Hammitt, on June 14, 1987.

Robin’s love, attitude, courage and faith have been a tremendous inspiration to us all. Her love for her family, and especially her “babies,” could not be surpassed. She loved animals, crafts, photography and doting on her grandchildren.

Robin is survived by her husband, Dale, her daughter Jamie (Mike) Funes, grandsons Sawyer and Mason of Las Vegas, Nev., step-daughters, Michelle (Brad) Carman, grandson Parker, granddaughters Alyssa, Brianna and Kennedy of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and her step-daughter Dianne (David) Garcia, granddaughter Cheyanne and grandson Asriel of Eugene, Ore. She is also survived by her parents, Max and Lavetta Belzer of Musselshell, and Gene and Betty Taylor of Billings, Mont., her sister, Betty Jo (Bob) Wellman of Billings and her nephew, Matthew (Jen) and great-niece Elly Wellman of Beaverton, Ore., as well as her step-sisters, Terry, Susan, Wendy and Wanda and step-brothers, Chris and Wes. Her precious family members are numerous and she was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Her maternal and paternal grandparents, her brother Aaron (Randy), her step-brother Wade and her niece Lisa preceded her in death, and were there to greet her at Heaven’s gate.

A celebration of her life was held Nov. 7 at the Musselshell Community Church.
