Curtis Bryon Arndt

Big Lake resident Curtis Bryon Arndt, 56, died Jan. 19, 2010, at his home. A celebration of life will be held at Robin’s Landing in Big Lake, 2990 S. Big Lake Road. For information, please call 892-6456.

Curtis was born Aug. 1, 1953, in Hillsboro, Ore., to Lou Ann Arndt. He has been a resident of Alaska for the past 30 years, living in Fairbanks, North Pole and residing in Big Lake. 

Curtis was employed as a school bus driver, carpenter and chef. He was a member of H.O.G (Harley’s Owners Group). He loved to ride, fish — especially halibut — and he also loved to read. His favorite authors were Stephen King and James Patterson.

Curt touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his brother, Floyd “Ross” Howard of Big Lake; sister, Cathleen Howard of Salem, Ore.; sister, Susan Williams of McMinnville, Ore.; sister, Roxanne Carver of Tillamook, Ore.; sister, Charlene Blankenship of Big Lake; girlfriend, Kathy Lewis of Bay City, Ore., and lots of nieces and nephews in, Alaska, Arizona and Oregon.

Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wasilla.

    " Sorry to hear about Curtis. I hadn't run into him for about a year but thought of him often. We worked at the bus barn together and had been friends,my thoughts are with his family. "
