" Tort reforms only accounts for less than 1% of the cost of insurance. But, the number 1 reason for bankrupcy and home forecloser is because of medical bills. Without medical insurance, the sick will still continue to go to the hospital ER's as they always have, and we will still pay the increased premium to make up the difference the hospital must charge.

The insurance companies are lobbing hard against this for only one reason, it cuts into their profits.
