KATA KAUZLARIC

Wasilla resident, Kata Kauzlaric, 78, died April 26, 2010, at Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, Ariz., from complications of liver cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m., Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wasilla, with Fr. Bill Fournier as Celebrant. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Burial at Wasilla Aurora Cemetery will follow the services. A reception at the church will follow. Pallbearers will be Rick Ingersoll, Alex Ulibarri, Donnie Wilson and Sinisa Slavnic.

Kata was born Feb. 2, 1932, in Gradac, Dervena, Bosnia. She became a Wasilla resident in 1989 after residing in Arizona, New Mexico and Europe. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and her special interests were cooking, knitting, gardening and praying.


Her family wrote, “Kata was very family oriented and enjoyed the simple things in life; knitting, spending time with family and going to church. She especially loved to travel to Croatia and around Europe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marko and Kata Stepanovich; brother, Ilija; and sisters, Matica and Ruza.

Surviving are daughters, Eva Ingersoll of Alaska and Zdenka Wilson of Texas; granddaughters, Anna Lufkin, Rosie Berdi, Margarita Ingersoll and Elizabeth Ingersoll of Alaska, and Ida Slavnic of Arizona; sons-in-law Rick Ingersoll of Alaska and Donnie Wilson of Texas; spouses of granddaughters, Sinisa Slavnic of Arizona, Alex Ulibarri of Alaska; fiancé of granddaughter, C J Oyagak of Alaska; great-grandchildren, Kayla Lufkin, Jasmine Larionoff, Sonnie Oyagak, C J. Oyagak Jr., Augustine Tunohun, Katia Oyagak, Medieana Oyagak, Lucciano Ulibarri, Riyanah Oyagak, Alexsander Slavnic, Dilan Slavnic and Cody Wilson; and other family members in Alaska and Europe.

Arrangements are with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel of Wasilla.
