The Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB) is providing this notice about proposed fuel reduction work in the Burma Road area north of Kuster Road on borough-owned land. This project is receiving funding from the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act, through the State of Alaska, Division of Forestry (DOF). These federal funds will support 3-5 full time employees and 16 seasonal employees.

This project will remove hazardous vegetation along both sides of Burma Road creating a shaded hardwood fuel break. Large diameter spruce trees (9” and greater) will be retained and pruned to remove ladder fuels. This project will treat approximately 19 acres of hazardous fuels.
