WASILLA – Having caught a ricocheted bullet in his foot, an 18-year-old Wasilla man drove himself to the hospital Sunday.

Alaska State Troopers say they got wind of the accidental shooting at 2:38 a.m. Sunday with a call from Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.

“Lane Felton-Tucker, age 18, of Wasilla had arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his foot,” troopers report.

Felton-Tucker told troopers he’d been at a bonfire at the end of Knik-Goose Bay Road, shooting a .22-caliber rifle when one of the rounds ricocheted off a backstop and hit his foot. He then drove himself to the hospital. Troopers say they don’t believe drugs or alcohol played any role in the incident.
