All information reported in the Police Beat is obtained from police departments’ press releases. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

 

ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

DRUGS

March 25, 3:40 p.m., Big Lake: Jamie Light, 24, Palmer, was found slumped over behind the wheel. He was allegedly in possession of Oxycodone and drug paraphernalia. Charge: MICS. Bail: $3,500.

March 29, 5:51 p.m., Meadow Lakes City Center: James M. Nelson, 22, Wasilla, was stopped behind the center and allegedly found to possess 18 Hydrocodone pills and 3 Oxycodone pills that were not prescribed to him. He was also allegedly parked within 500 feet of a school, increasing the severity of the crimes. Charge: MICS. Bail: $3,000.

 

DUI

March 23, 11:07 p.m., Finch Rd.: Dawn M. Noble, 48, Wasilla, was stopped on a complaint form the public. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

March 31, 3:30 a.m., Wasilla: Michelle Beasley, 20, Wasilla, was seen spinning out and leaving the road coming around a corner. Charges: DUI, DWLR, MOCA, MCA, VCR. Bail: $500.

March 31, 8:35 p.m., Timothy Ln.: Harold C. Jones Jr., 55, Wasilla, was found to have allegedly driven drunk to a disturbance and driven his 1992 Plymouth Duster over a mailbox. Charges: Felony DUI, DWLR. Bail: $34,500 with a CATPC. Also at the house was Sarah Kirk, who was wanted on a warrant for assault. Bail: $1,000.

 

WARRANT

March 27, 12:51 a.m., Phiox St. and Buttercup Dr.: Kayla Jimenez, 19, Wasilla, was stopped as troopers investigated a crime and was arrested on warrants for failure to appear in court on a NVOL charge. Bail: $500.

March 28, 9:30 p.m., Windsor Dr.: Kellsie L.J. Green, 22, Wasilla, was arrested at a disturbance on a warrant for FTA in court on a DWLR charge. Bail: $200.

 

WILDLIFE VIOLATION

March 23, Wasilla: William C. Jasper, 40, Palmer, was cited for allegedly making a false statement on a fishing license application.

 

ACCIDENT

March 27, 7:59 p.m., Vine Rd. and Countrywood Dr.: A 16-year-old Wasilla girl allegedly ran a stop sign driving a 2006 Ford Focus and hit a Ford F-250 driven by Raymond George, 54, Wasilla. Woods was treated at the hospital for minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed. Woods was cited for not exercising due care.

 

ASSAULT

March 27, 7:50 p.m., Old Trunk Rd.: Joleene Baird, 37, Wasilla, was allegedly found to have assaulted a family member. Charge: DV assault. No bail set.  

March 28, 12:52 a.m., Big Lake Lodge Rd.: Kenneth Mayberry, 45, Big Lake, was allegedly found to have assaulted two family members. Charges: DV assault. No bail set.

March 30, 6:48 p.m., Hawk Ln.: Troopers arrested Robert Kunayak, 43, Houston, at a disturbance for allegedly injuring two people and then threatening three more after he left the home and returned brandishing a hammer. Charges: DV assault, disorderly conduct. No bail set.

March 31, 10:34 a.m., Wassim Cir.: Harvey Kanayurak, 27, Wasilla, allegedly put family members in fear of injury then resisted arrest. Charges: assault, resisting arrest. No bail set.

March 31, 2:30 p.m., Edsulu St.: James Falke, 29, Big Lake, allegedly assaulted a family member causing physical injury. Charge: DV assault. No bail set.

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

March 27, 10:30 p.m., Paradise Ln.: Cassie Fowner, 20, Wasilla, was stopped driving away from a disturbance. She allegedly damaged property of a family member. Charges: criminal mischief, DWLR. No bail set.

 

FALSE INFORMATION

March 31, 2:30 a.m., East Victor Ct.: An Anchorage 17-year-old allegedly gave a fake name of Dexter Aikey to troopers investigating a disturbance. After a breath test, the teen was arrested for MCA and providing false information.

 

DWLR

March 31, 5:39 p.m., Copper Creek Dr. near Totem Rd.: Alicia Press, 32, Palmer, was arrested for DWLR. Bail: $250.
