Power restored, more outages possible

MAT-SU — Matanuska Electrical Association is reporting widespread power outages for customers in Eklutna, Palmer, Wasilla and surrounding areas.

“Crews have been dispatched,” according to a note on the MEA Facebook page.

MAT-SU — Matanuska Electrical Association says power has been restored to customers in Eklutna, Palmer, Wasilla and surrounding areas who were left without power for about 40 minutes this morning.

“Trees have been removed from one of our main lines restoring power to all members,” according to a note on MEA’s Facebook page.

An MEA spokeswoman said the outage was storm-related and more outages could occur while the rain and wind persists.
