Wreck closes Palmer-Wasilla Highway briefly

Central Mat-Su Fire Department emergency crews and Alaska State Troopers responded to a three-car crash on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway at 2:26 p.m., Wednesday. The highway was closed for about an hour while emergency workers used rescue equipment to cut three people out of one of the vehicles.

Workers with Golden Wheel Amusements ready one of the company's rides for operation on Monday, August 24 at the Alaska State Fairgrounds in Palmer. Organizers say they expect around 300,000 visitors to this year's event.
