Wasilla resident Joseph Abel DeGagne III, 69, died June 7, 2013 at home.
A celebration of life is June 13 at Faith Bible Fellowship, 14159 West Hollywood Rd., at 2 p.m., with Pastor Ethan Hansen officiating.
Joseph was born July 18, 1943, in Rockport, Mass.
He joined the Air Force in 1967 and served in the Vietnam War. In 1983, Joseph moved to Alaska and was self-employed.
His family writes, “Joseph was a very hard worker. He enjoyed building and never took a day off. He was an amazing father and he was always there for his children.”
Surviving are his wife, Juthamat DeGagne; daughters, Lisa Andersen of Great Falls, Mont., April DeGagne-Boyd of Missoula, Mont., Misty Rogers of McKinney, Texas, Heather Lewis of Cortez, Colo., Sara-Jo DeGagne of Wasilla and Ann-Marie DeGagne, Byn and Mod Jaemnaijit of Wasilla; and sons, Shane Rodriguez of California and Joseph DeGagne of Wasilla.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda DeGagne; and his parents, Joseph and Agnes Lillian DeGagne.
Arrangements were made with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory.
