WASILLA — Palmer illusionist Richard Kennedy is ready to make some magic for a good cause this Sunday at the Glenn Massay Theater.
Kennedy will perform his “Santa-Via-Satellite” magic show to raise funds and spread awareness for the Toys for Tots program.
“This is a great opportunity to help children this season,” Kennedy stated in a recent press release. “It’s an amazing feeling when so many people gather together to help others. Simply bringing a new toy to the show to help a child in need, and in return, getting to see an amazing show all for a great cause. It’s a win-win in my book.”
Kennedy has traveled across the United States and Europe headlining fundraisers for the last 17 years. His focus this year is the Toys for Tots program.
“There’s no trick to making a difference. Seeing someone in need and then supplying them with that need is the greatest good anyone can do. As an illusionist I’ve seen my share of amazing magic, but none so great as helping others in need,” Kennedy said in the release
Like most illusionists, Kennedy is known for pulling audience members on the stage. He likes to incorporate comedy and plenty of audience interaction in his acts.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the magic show begins promptly at 6:45 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring new and unwrapped toys or monetary donations to the Toys for Tots program for admission.
