Alaska State Fair officials will make a final decision regarding the 2020 fair by June 25, according to an update provided by fair officials.
“The decision regarding what the fair will look like this year will become more clear in the weeks ahead,” fair officials said in a statement posted on their website. “The fair board and staff remain cautiously optimistic that the 2020 Alaska State fair and the AT&T Concert Series will occur as planned this fall.”
Current state health mandates prevent gatherings of more than 20 people due to the COVID-19 state mandates. State officials are expected to reevaluate the mandates currently in place in the coming weeks.
“We continue to gather information and evaluate probably scenarios under constantly changing (Center for Disease Control) recommendations and state and federal mandates,” fair officials said.
The 2020 Alaska State Fair is currently scheduled to start Aug. 27 and continue through Sept. 7r. Country artist Jon Pardi and the genre-crossing Pink Martini are the first two acts booked as part of the concert series.
