PALMER —Ralph Renzi, executive director of the Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce, announced his resignation Monday morning due to health concerns, according to Ailis Vann, past-president. “It was a hard decision for him and his family but it was necessary for him to maintain his health,” Vann said. Vann said the board held an emergency meeting to address Renzi’s resignation. She said they are planning to advertise for his replacement soon and will be taking care of his duties until someone is takes his place. “The board of directors have offered to step up and fill the gaps where needed. So that’s the plan for the next few weeks until we can get someone hired,” Vann said. Renzi has been with the chamber since Nov. 7, 2011, according to Vann. She said that he was a valuable member of their team. “We thank Ralph for his service. He was a great asset for the chamber,” Vann said.
