Capstone Clinic has opened a COVID testing facility in Fairbanks, Alaska.
“Fairbanks residents and travelers have been in desperate need of comprehensive and efficient testing access during the COVID pandemic,” Capstone’s CEO Dennis Spencer said. “Launching the new testing facility in Fairbanks will help open businesses, get kids back to school and ensure expedited travel approval to Hawaii and beyond.”
Capstone Clinic, an Alaskan-owned and operated healthcare provider, has medical clinics and testing facilities in Wasilla, Palmer, Eagle River, Anchorage, Kenai, Prudhoe Bay, and Dillingham, as well urgent care, occupational medicine and specialist practices throughout southcentral Alaska.
“Capstone was recently designated by the State of Hawaii as the only Alaskan-based medical clinic that is a Trusted Testing Partner for travelers to Hawaii,” adds Dr. Wade Erickson, MD, Capstone’s founder. “This designation will enable our practitioners to test and certify Hawaii-bound travelers in Fairbanks who can then be approved to enter the state upon arrival to Hawaii.”
The new Capstone Clinic Fairbanks testing facility is located at 3121 Airport Way next to Fountainhead Warm Storage. Hours of testing will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 p.m. to 11 a.m. on weekends. Hawaii-bound Alaska Airlines passengers in Fairbanks will be offered priority testing specifically on Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to Noon at the Airport Way location.
“As Capstone expands healthcare services throughout Alaska, our 250+ employees’ top priority remains responsive, quality, and accessible medical treatment and testing,” notes Dennis Spencer. “Opening a new testing site in Fairbanks adds to our objective to take care of Alaskan patients, particularly during COVID.”
