ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

July 1 at 7:53 a.m., AST received a report that power tools, vehicle parts and a MIG welder were stolen from a business near Mile 37 of the Glenn Highway.

July 1 at 8:12 p.m., AST arrested 52-year-old Dale Roberts of Wasilla for DUI after receiving a report of a car wedged underneath a truck. Roberts was taken to MSPT on $500 bail.

July 2 at 1:00 p.m., AST arrested 38-year-old Brian Corey and 33-year-old Crystal Churchill of Wasilla after they had broken into a motorhome at a residence on Tanana Drive in Wasilla. Both were charged with Burglary 1 and Burglary 2 and taken to MSPT without bail.

July 2 at 1:11 p.m., AST received a report that two 40 horsepower Yamaha motors, nearly 600 gallons of fuel and non-perishable food were stolen from a cabin near Skwetna between September and the middle of May.

July 2 at 1:32 p.m., AST received a report of a 1999 black Honda Civic stolen sometime during the night of July 1 near the Hyer Road exit on the Parks Highway.

July 2 at 1:38 p.m., AST received a report that a Crowley Fuel truck with two trailers had rolled over between mile 104 and 105 of the Richardson Highway in Glennallen. Approximately 5,000 gallons of heating fuel from the second trailer leaked onto the roadway, but the truck and first trailer remained upright. Cleanup efforts are underway and the Richardson Highway will be reduced to one lane at times during the cleanup.

July 2 at 9:55 p.m., AST conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of the Glenn Highway and the Old Glenn Highway for a Toyota Van traveling 20 MPH over the speed limit. MATCOM dispatch alerted AST that they had received reports of an individual firing a gun from the vehicle. AST issued a summons to 23-year-old Yendis Walker of Anchorage for MICS 4.

July 3 at 8:46 a.m., AST arrested 22-year-old Skyler Brocker of Wasilla on Charley Drive on an active arrest warrant. Brocker was taken to MSPT without bail.

July 3 at 12:34 a.m., AST arrested 53-year-old Herbert Theodore of Talkeetna on and outstanding warrant on the O/C of DUI. Herbert was taken to MSPT for a mandatory stay of three days.

July 4 at 12:42 a.m., AST arrested 36-year-old Joshua Haggerty of Eagle River after receiving reports of road rage where Haggerty fired a flare gun and struck another vehicle. Haggerty was stopped on Hyer Road and arrested on three charges of Assault 3. Haggerty was taken to MSPT.

July 4 at 4:24 p.m., AST received a report that someone had broken into a home on Kalmbach Lake Drive in Wasilla and stolen more than $2,000 in items.

July 4 at 6:27 p.m., AST responded to a report of a dangerous driver in a green Subaru Outback on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway. AST arrested 27-year-old Kitty Nazuruk of Anchorage for DUI after she was involved in a single vehicle collision near the Matanuska River Bridge. Nazuruk was additionally VCOR from a prior DUI charge on June 21 and the vehicle was reported stolen out of HOuston. Nazuruk was taken to MSPT on charges of DUI, DWLR, VCOR, Reckless Driving, Vehicle Theft 1 and Theft 2.

July 4 at 10:29 p.m., AST arrested 33-year-old Jason Palmer of Anchorage for Assault 4 (DV) following a disturbance near mile 76 of the Parks Highway. Palmer was taken to MSPT without bail.

July 4 at 10:56 p.m., AST arrested 19-year-old Devonte Helwig of Wasilla for Assault 4 off of Wolverine Drive in Wasilla. Helwig was taken to MSPT.

July 5 at 1:38 a.m., AST arrested 19-year-old Jestine Burt of Wasilla on Amanda Drive in Wasilla following a disturbance. Burt was taken to MSPT on charges of Assault 4 (DV).

July 5 at 2:23 a.m., AST arrested 25-year-old Camilo Benitez of Anchorage for DUI near milepost 59 of the Glenn Highway in Sutton. Benitez was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

July 6 at 9:11 p.m., AST cited 23-year-old Chris Rock of Palmer for Reckless Driving after Rock was observed committing multiple traffic violations and speeding on Hollywood Road in Wasilla.

July 6 at 2:00 p.m., AST arrested 40-year-old Jason Campbell of Wasilla on an outstanding arrest warrant after Campbell was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on Sylvan Lane. Campbell’s warrant was on the O/C of Evidence Tampering and Campbell was additionally found in possession of stolen credit cards and a sawed off shotgun. Campbell was taken to MSPT on the warrant, five counts of Theft 2, and two counts of MIWS 3 without bail.

July 6 at 5:06 p.m., AST contacted 37-year-old Teresa Adkins of Wasilla after she damaged Alaska state property. Adkins was cited for for Negligent Driving.

July 7 at 12:13 a.m., AST arrested 20-year-old Conner O’Neill of Fairbanks following a traffic stop on South Beacon Street in Wasilla. O’Neill was taken to MSPT where he was held on a probation violation.

July 7 at 6:07 a.m., AST arrested 30-year-old Mason Pitts at mile 33 of the Glenn Highway after Pitts flagged down AST attempting to hitchhike. Pitts was listed as a missing person with an outstanding $500 warrant out of Anchorage. Pitts was taken to APD on the warrant.

July 7 at 1:18 p.m., AST arrested 29-year-old Charlie Johnson of Palmer following a disturbance in Healy. Johnson was taken to FCC on charges of DUI, Refusal to submit to a chemical test, and MIW 4 on $1,000 bail.

July 7 at 8:06 p.m., AST performing traffic control at the Montana Creek Bridge on Yoder Road in Talkeetna arrested Leonard Talley for DUI attempting to enter the restricted area. Talley was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

July 8 at 8:30 p.m., AST responded to mile 16 of Knik-Goose Bay Road for a disturbance and discovered 42-year-old William Pfluger of Wasilla after Pfluger had fired a revolver at his own outhouse. Pfluger provided a PBT of .135 and was issued a summons for MIWS 4.

July 9 at 8:37 a.m., AST received a report of a dangerous driver near mile 50 of the Parks Highway and arrested 38-year-old Jerald Coghill of Wasilla for DLWS and an active FTA warrant out of Fairbanks. Coghill was taken to MSPT.

July 9 at 9:27 a.m., GIU AST with the Child Abuse Investigation Unit arrested 35-year-old Eric Peterson of Wasilla for six counts of SAM 1 and 3 counts of SAM 2.

July 9 at 9:30 p.m., AST arrested Catherine Bodell for DUI in the Caswell Lakes subdivision in Willow. Bodell was taken to MSPT on $1,000 bail due to her nine prior DUI convictions.

July 10 at 11:00 a.m., AST arrested 29-year-old Courtney Weeks of Wasilla on an outstanding warrant on the O/C of Theft 2. Weeks was taken to MSPT on $2,500 bail.

ALASKA WILDLIFE TROOPERS

June 26, AWT in Bristol Bay cited 48-year-old Jeffrey Burwell of Wasilla for commercial fishing during a closed period.

July 2, AWT issued a summons $220 citation to 69-year-old Benny Abraham of Wasilla who was observed dipnetting in the Kasilof River without a dipnet permit.

July 4 at 10:00 a.m., AWT in Cordova issued a $120 citation to 27-year-old Kyle Blomquist for failure to have a shrimp permit in possession after Blomquist set out shrimp pots.

July 4 at 10:36 a.m., AWT in Cordova issued citations to 31-year-old Travis Baril and Chelsae Paduan of Palmer while they were sport fishing in Esther Passage. Neither had valid sport fish licenses and were both issued $220 correctable citations.

July 4, AWT in Naknek cited 67-year-old Richard Hendricks of Palmer for commercial fishing during a closed period.

July 6 at 11:47 a.m., AWT in Soldotna cited 44-year-old Shannon Espinda-Fuala of Wasilla $220 for fishing without a license in the Kasilof River.

July 6, AWT cited Skylor Jones $200 for sport fishing without a license on Lake Louise.

July 6, AWT in Nushagak Bay cited 40-year-old Kelly Stier of Wasilla for commercial fishing a drift gillnet while attached to a ground vessel.

July 6 at 3:38 p.m., Palmer AWT arrested 38-year-old Joseph Lorenzen of Palmer for DUI and a $1,000 arrest warrant from APD on a previous DUI charge. The DUI charge is Lorenzen’s fifth and third within a span of 10 years which qualifies the charge on July 6 as a felony. Big Lake patrol was conducted as part of Operation Dry Water, a national campaign focused on impaired boating. AWT seized the 23-foot North River inboard jet boat and Lorenzen was taken to MSPT.

PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT

July 1, PPD arrested 28-year-old Rosebud Sweeney of Palmer for Criminal Trespass 2 on VCOR. Sweeney was taken to MSPT on $250 bail.

July 2, PPD arrested 22-year-old Tommy Sheppard of Palmer on a $200 FTA warrant on the O/C of DWLR. Sheppard was taken to MSPT.

July 7, PPD issued a summons to 32-year-old Chad Garritson of Talkeetna for MICS 5.

July 7, PPD forwarded charges of Criminal Trespass 1 and Criminal Mischief 5 to the DAO for 31-year-old Shay Hall of Palmer.

July, PPD arrested 23-year-old Alex Aschenbrenner of Palmer on a $250 FTC warrant on the O/C of MICS 6. Aschenbrenner was taken to MSPT.

WASILLA POLICE DEPARTMENT

July 1 at 10:56 a.m., WPD arrested 28-year-old Rosebud Sweeney of Palmer for Trespassing at the Wasilla Library. Sweeney was taken to MSPT for Criminal Trespass 2.

July 1 at 6:24 p.m., WPD responded to Carrs for a report of shoplifting. WPD arrested 29-year-old Clifford Brown of Anchorage for Theft 3 after Brown walked out with nearly $279.31 in merchandise. WPD additionally charged 32-year-old Douglas Sheldon of Anchorage was taken to MSPT on a Theft 4 charge after he left with $194.38 in merchandise.

July 1 at 7:52 p.m., WPD arrested 32-year-old Douglas Sheldon of Anchorage for DUI after Sheldon was stopped on North Boundary Street and provided a .254 PBT sample. Sheldon was charged with his second DUI offense and taken to MSPT.

July 2 at 10:53 p.m., WPD responded to a report of theft from the boat launch fee box at Lake Lucille. WPD forwarded charges of Theft 4 to the DAO for Miranda Craig.

July 3 at 8:45 a.m., WPD arrested 20-year-old Michael Davison of Wasilla after Davison failed to identify himself, show proof of insurance, registration, comply with orders, and actively resisted. Davison was taken to MSPT on charges of Disorderly Conduct.

July 4, WPD issued a Trespass warning to 29-year-old Burny Hampton of Wasilla. Hampton came back to the property he was just trespassed from was and arrested on charges of Criminal Trespass 2 and taken to MSPT where he was released O/R.

July 5 at 3:27 a.m., WPD stopped Timothy Corbin for driving without taillights. Corbin was arrested for False Information and an active warrant and taken to MSPT.

July 5, PPD arrested 33-year-old Kelly Kitchen of Wasilla for Theft 4 at Walmart.

July 5 at 5:50 p.m., WPD responded to a report of a dangerous driver on Crusey Street and the Parks Highway and arrested Harry Nose of Wasilla for DUI. Nose failed FST’s and was taken to MSPT where he provided a .157 breath sample on the Datamaster.

July 6, WPD arrested Corey Jenson at Arby’s after receiving a report of a driver asleep behind the wheel. Jenson was taken to MSPT.

July 6 at 8:34 p.m., WPD arrested Aaron Tatum after causing a disturbance inside Wendy’s. Tatum was reported as a drunk driver and was taken to MSPT on DUI charges.
