Education, learning is a great tool for life and as a Christian, studying God’s word is the way to save one’s soul.

When I was a young boy, I heard a lot of preachers talking about saving the soul. Well, that’s what the Bible says, there are about 100 different places about salvation of the soul.

When you read the word you can see the soul didn’t automatically change when we were born again. We have to renew our minds so we can walk the walk God has for us.

God’s word is life-changing, but as Christians, we must allow God’s word, the Bible, to direct our path. Someone once said “like a good steak, you don’t want to eat it just one time,” stay in the word.

A Christian cannot fulfill God’s desires, He shows us in the word, if we don’t allow his word to change our lives. The word of God shows for us to, walk in love, prefer the other person, be a doer of the word.

Without continually getting the word of God into you, your soul, the mental- emotional part of a person, can be flesh ruled.

The word of God says to walk in love. Yes, when a person is born again the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts. But we still have to let God’s love work in our daily walk. Walking in strife, serving only one’s self, is overcome if we get the word of God in us, His word is life-changing. Your born-again spirit becomes dominant, you can walk in love, walk in the spirit, and you’re not carnal or flesh ruled.

Walking in love is what God wants from all of us and as a Christian, if we miss it, stop, repent, that’s what the Bible says.

As a Christian, have you ever missed it, since you were born again? Those things need to be taken care of.

Mark 11:23 – 24 shows what we have in Christ. Now look at verse 25 and 26, it says if you don’t forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive you. Don’t sweep that under the rug, so to speak. Basically if you don’t walk in love, the blessings as a child of God may not, or how about, will not work in your life.

Just like the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, all because they didn’t want to do what God showed them. Did God cause their calamity? No, but He did allow it.

Walk in love and do what God shows us in His word and all the blessings of God will come our way. Yes, we have to have faith, but faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

I like what one minister said “faith is simply acting on God’s word,” he said, “it is only when you act on God’s word that you are exercising faith.”

The times when I have been weak in faith are those times that I get away from the word of God using the excuse, just too busy, but when I get in the word and confess and act on the word, my faith will grow.

As a Christian we must stay in the word, not just when we hear someone bring a message forward once a week for half an hour or so. Even there you need to take your Bible and prove out what’s been taught, does it line up with the word of God? That’s why we have the word of God, the Bible. Check things out, study it for yourself, know what you believe or have been taught, does it line up with the word of God?

Always go to the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16, believe it, walk in it, it says, “all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

Walk in the light of God’s word and be fruitful.
