Lavon Barve

When I was growing up in the1950s in South-central Michigan, my knowledge of the Word of God was limited, even though I read it sometimes and I went to church every week, I can’t say I knew God’s principle of Mark 11:24 “.. I say to you whatsoever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” My prayers were mostly formality, unless of course there was a great calamity in my or my family’s life.

I guess I missed when you pray believe that you will receive. When I prayed my prayers, afterwards I wanted to see if I have received. But that is not what the Scriptures says, it says believe first and then you will receive what you’re praying for.

With the world situation right now we need to know how to pray.

A man of God gave a prophetic word over 30 years ago, part of it he spoke of “prayerless believers becoming radical prayer believers”-now is the time to get serious about our prayer life.

What do you believe, does it line up with God’s Word the Bible?

For more than half my life, we have heard nonbelievers; religious ministers and leaders say negative things about God’s Word. Christians need to take up God’s word and believe it literally. Why not, that’s what God intended.

Most of us have heard it all, some churches say they don’t believe in divine healing but that is not what the Bible says, “by his stripes we were healed”.

Some say the Bible is just a book, but the Bible says God inspired holy men of God to write the word of God, believe it.

Romans 10:17 says ”faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God”.

Get into the word of God, study the epistles, the letters to the church today, Acts to Jude.

Read them, study them and believe. We Christians have to be careful what we hear if it doesn’t line up with God’s Word, don’t go there.

Mark 11:23,24”… whoever says to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes those things he says will be done, he will have what ever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe you will receive them, and you will have them.” Notice here you have to believe with your heart, your very innermost being, your spirit. You do that by getting God’s word into you so when you pray, believe you receive, and in verses 25 and 26 hold no unforgiveness in your heart, forgive so your father in heaven will forgive you so your prayer will be effective.

These four verses are not just words printed on a piece of paper; they are life and very serious life to those who grab a hold of them. God is living and powerful, most of us are experiencing things in our life right now that we never experienced before, lots of room for anxiety and fear. That’s why Christians right now need to look to Jesus, our Redeemer. Christians, if you need to have your prayer life work, a good place to start for now, just camp on these four Scriptures in Mark chapter 11 and study in and around them, meditate on them, confess them and believe you receive when you pray.

If you’re not a Christian and want God the father’s promises in his word of eternal life through Jesus Christ, make this Scripture a heart felt prayer in Romans 10:9-10 “ that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

And when you pray that heartfelt prayer believe you will receive salvation, eternal life is yours, God word is everlasting.

I like to say it this way, like it says In Acts 27:25 “....for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.” Yes, told me in the Bible.
