Palmer Police Department
On Oct. 26, Palmer Police responded to the back area of Palmer Bar after it was reported Daniel Wayne Allen, age 38 of West Virginia, assaulted a female patron at Klondike Mikes Bar. Per witnesses, Allen was told to leave Palmer Bar, Moosehead Saloon and Klondike Mikes Bar do to his intoxicated and violent behavior. After being removed from Klondike Mikes Bar by staff a second time, Allen reportedly told staff members that he was headed to his vehicle to retrieve a gun and shoot patrons. A staff member of Klondike Mikes Bar followed Allen until police arrived to prevent him from retrieving a gun. Palmer Police arrived on scene and detained Allen. Allen admitted to being in Klondike Mikes Bar but denied any altercation occurred. Allen was remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial on the charges of Terroristic Threatening in the Second Degree and Assault in the Fourth Degree with no bail per the bail schedule.
On Oct. 28, Palmer Police arrested Georgiann L. Anvil, age 46 of Palmer, for Assault in the 4th Degree DV. She was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial and held without bail per the bail schedule.
On Oct. 28, Palmer Police issued Jason K. Anvil Sr., age 46 of Palmer, a Summons to appear in court for two counts of Harassment in the 1 st Degree.
On Oct. 28, Palmer Police arrested Zackary S. McKenna-JOHNSTON, age 35 of Sutton, for three charges of Criminal Trespass 1st , Disorderly Conduct, and Criminal Mischief 5th. McKenna-Johnston was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was held on $150.00 bail per Magistrate Smith.
On Oct. 28, Palmer Police Summonsed Linnus A. DePriest, age 63 of Palmer, for Criminal Trespass 2.
On Oct. 30, Palmer Police arrested Lonny P. Mattila, age 45 of Wasilla, for Assault in the 4th Degree (against a Peace Officer), Resisting Arrest, and two counts of Disorderly Conduct. Mattila was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was held with no bail.
On Oct. 31, Palmer Police arrested Braxton E. Moore, age 19 of Palmer, for Assault IV DV. MOORE was remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial where he was held without bail, per the bail schedule.
Alaska State Troopers
On Oct. 17 at 6:25 p.m., AST performed a traffic stop on a blue 1990 Chevy Suburban for numerous violations in the Caswell Lakes subdivision in Willow. The vehicle was also called in as a REDDI vehicle 30 minutes prior to the stop. AST contacted the driver, Forrest Gotthardt age 39 of Anchorage, and arrested him for DUI and Misconduct Involving Weapons in the 4th Degree. Gotthardt was transported to the MSPT facility in Palmer where he was remanded into custody and held without bail.
On Oct. 18 at 6:43 p.m., ST responded to a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report in the area of Meadow Lakes Dr. and Skyview DR. in Wasilla. Investigation revealed James Grim, 51-year-old of Anchorage, was operating his vehicle while texting and almost ran another vehicle off the road. Grim struck a disabled vehicle on the side of the road and drove into the ditch. Further investigation revealed Grim was operating on a cancelled driver license, is on parole, and had a $500.00 misdemeanor warrant out of Anchorage for Reckless driving. Grim was arrested on his Warrant and for violating his parole. Additionally, Grim was charged with Reckless driving and operating on a cancelled license. Grim was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial pending arraignment.
On Oct. 19 at 6:42 a.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a reported assault between family members. Investigation revealed that Jan Nashookpuk, age 19 of Wasilla, had caused physical injury and on another instance, instilled fear of physical injury to a family member. Additionally, he had taken the family member’s cell phone, preventing the ability to be able to call for help in the midst of the assault. Jan was arrested on Assault 4 DV (x2) and Interfering with the report of a crime of Domestic Violence and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was remanded and held without bail.
On Oct. 21 at 7:55 a.m., AST stopped a 2011 Chevy Cruz for running a red traffic signal at PWH and Hemmer Road in Palmer. Subsequently the driver, Ivan A. Kojin, 39 yoa of Wasilla, was arrested on a $1000 outstanding warrant out of Homer and issued a mandatory court appearance citation for driving on a revoked license. Kojin was remanded to MSPT on the warrant.
On Oct. 21, Alaska State Troopers and Court Service Officers assigned to Palmer Judicial Services assisted the victim of a DV Crime in collecting items from a home on Limberlost Drive in Wasilla. Once on scene it was discovered that the suspect, Jeremy Kosbruk, age 34 of Wasilla, was on scene and hiding in the residence. Kosbruk had multiple misdemeanor and felony warrants for his arrest. AST Patrol and K9 Blitz responded to the scene. A search warrant was applied for and granted. The residence was searched with the assistance of K9 Blitz and Kosbruk was located hiding in a bedroom under a pile of dirty clothes. Kosbruk was arrested for his warrants. Kosbruk was wanted for a no bail parole warrant for a parole violation on the original offenses of robbery 2nd, burglary 1st, assault 3rd, assault 3rd, MIW 3rd, MIW 3rd, failure to register as a sex offender 2nd, a no bail warrant for failure to comply with conditions of probation on the original charge of robbery 2nd, assault 3rd x’s2, MIW 3rd, a $1000.00 warrant for fail to comply with conditions of probation on the original charge of SAM 2nd Degree and a $2000.00 warrant for assault 4th degree reckless injury. Kosbruk was remanded to Mat Su Pretrial. The homeowner, Carlton Pettit III, age 49 of Wasilla, was arrested for hindering prosecution 1st degree and a probation violation. He was remanded to Mat Su Pretrial where he was held without bail pending arraignment.
On Oct. 19, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a theft from vehicle at an address on Lupine Way in Wasilla. During the investigation, Troopers developed a lead on the location of a possible suspect. On 10/20/2021 at approximately 1200 hours, AST and the Palmer Criminal Suppression Unit located the suspect vehicle at the Palmer Fred Meyer parking lot. Troopers located William Coulombe, age 29 of Wasilla, and Julia Santana, age 24 of Palmer in the vehicle with property from the theft call. Further, Coulombe was in possession of a handgun and he is convicted felon. The handgun had the serial number removed as well. Coulombe was in possession of 4 other person’s credit cards. On 10/21/2021, CSU served additional search warrants and located another firearm as well as evidence of over 30 theft cases to include multiple credit cards and IDs. Multiple controlled substances were also located. Both Santana and Coulombe were remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility of Theft and Criminal Trespass charges. Coulombe was also charged with MIW III x2 and Criminal Impersonation x4. Further charges for MICS, Theft, Fraud, Criminal Impersonation are expected.
On Oct. 28 at 7:11 p.m., Alaska State Troopers in the Mat-Su Valley were requested to complete a welfare check at a residence in Wasilla. During the course of the welfare check, Troopers located 70-year-old Wasilla resident Eugene Haberman deceased inside of his residence. There is no foul play suspected at this time, and the death appears to be from natural causes. Next of kin has been notified.
