Alaska State Troopers
Feb. 25 Alaska State Troopers responded to a disturbance on Crusey St. in Wasilla. During AST’s investigation it was revealed Kiril Basargin, age 43, of Homer had attempted to open his car door while it was moving and had gotten into an argument with a family member. Investigation revealed Kiril violated his conditions of release not to consume alcohol. Mr. Basargin was arrested and transported to Matsu Pretrial where he was remanded on no bail.
Feb. 25 AST was contacted in reference to a domestic violence situation which occurred earlier that morning. Troopers responded and contacted the victim who indicated a domestic assault as well as a domestic strangulation occurred. The suspect of the incident who was not originally on scene arrived at the conclusion of the investigation. Interviews were conducted and it was determined that probable cause existed that Aaron T Mells, age 39 of Wasilla, committed an Assault 2 and an Assault 4 on another household member. Mells was arrested and remanded to pre trial where he is currently held without bail.
Feb. 25 Alaska State Troopers responded to a disturbance on S Valley Loop in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Flore Lekanof, age 52 of Wasilla damaged household property. Flore was arrested for a DV Criminal Mischief 4. Flore was remanded into custody at Mat-Su Pretrial facility and held without bail.
Feb. 24 Alaska State Trooper observed Jeremiah Proveauex, age 36 of Big Lake, inside the Palmer Three Bears. Proveauex had an active warrant for his arrest. When Troopers attempted to detain Proveauex, he attempted to physically fight but was quickly restrained. Palmer CSU responded to assist and Proveauex was further found to be in possession of controlled substances. Proveauex was arrested and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.
Feb. 24 Alaska State Troopers responded to the area of Pittman Road for the report of a trespassing issue. Investigation revealed, Erica Magee 29 YOA was located and revealed she had an active warrant for her arrest. Initially, Erica attempted to provided AST with a false name which had no resemblance to the Erica. AST had numerous contacts in the past with the false name provided by Erica. Erica was arrested on her warrant and a charge of Providing False Information. Erica was remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial where she was held on $1,000 bail.
Feb. 24 AST received 2 REDDI reports with vehicle matching similar descriptions in each displaying erratic driving behaviors. The vehicle ultimately lost control and nearly collided with another motorist before the vehicle went into the median on the Parks Hwy. Troopers responded and contacted the driver Mackenzee Barrett, age 19 of Wasilla, who displayed common signs of impairment. Upon completion of investigation, Barrett was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence and well as Minor consuming alcohol and operating a vehicle.
Feb. 22 Troopers received a REDDI report about a black Ford truck driving as if impaired near mile post 115 of the Parks Highway. A Trooper returning to Fairbanks from Anchorage was in the area and located the vehicle within mere minutes. The driver of the vehicle was identified as John Goswick, age 60 of Wasilla, AK. He showed signs of impairment and was ultimately arrested for DUI. He was transported to the Matsu Valley where he was remanded.
