ASSAULT/DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

May 25 at 2:00 a.m., AST responded to a reported disturbance and found that 18 year old Joseph Lipscomb of Wasilla caused about $280 worth of damage to the residence on W Riverdell Dr in Wasilla. Lipscomb was arrested for Criminal Mischief 4 (DV), transported to MSPT and remanded without bail.

May 25 at 5:00 p.m., AST responded to a reported disturbance and found that 35 year old Michael Halla of Wasilla caused injury to his girlfriend during an altercation. Halla fled the scene prior to AST’s arrival but was arrested when he returned. Halla was transported to MSPT on charges of DV Assault 4 where is awaiting bail.

May 25 at 8:58 p.m., AST received a report of a disturbance in Chitina. 21 year old Nathaniel Goodlataw of Chitina had assaulted a family member and pointed a rifle at them. Goodlataw was intoxicated at the time of the assault, arrested and taken to the Glennallen trooper post where he is held pending arraignment on one count of Assault 3 (DV) and MIW 4.

May 26 at 2:13 a.m., AST responded to a reported disturbance on Edenfield Rd in Wasilla and forwarded charges for 27 year old Trisha Anvil of Wasilla for Assault 4 to the Palmer DA’s Office.

SEARCH AND RESCUE

May 27 at 10:50 p.m., AST was informed by 26 year old Logan Koerner of Wasilla that two buddies were stranded near the mouth of the Little Su when their boat was carried away by the tide. AST was unable to respond to the area until the morning due to darkness, but the stranded were wet but uninjured and able to start a fire. AST has been in contact with Koerner so that they can provide transport back to the boat launch in the morning. On May 28 at 6:38 a.m., Koerner told AST the boaters had found their boat and returned to Burma Landing to drive home. No one was injured and assistance efforts were discontinued.

May 25 at 11:45 p.m., AST received a report of five ATV riders who were overdue near Eureka. AST launched a helicopter at first light on May 26 and found Cody Akers, Kalvin Gilhouson, Kim Gilhouson, James Walton and Clarifel Agtatap slightly hypothermic. The group had run out of fuel and had no camping or survival gear but were dressed for the outdoors.

 

 

THEFT

May 21 at 8:50 a.m., AST received a report of a theft of a snow machine trailer from property in the Hatcher Pass area along Palmer Fishhook Rd on May 5.

May 24 at 8:00 a.m., AST responded to a reported burglary and theft on a business on Tweed Court in Wasilla. During the previous night, the business was forcibly entered. $285 in cash was stolen and $300 in damage was done to the property.

May 24 at 11:00 a.m., AST investigated a stolen white 1982 GMC pick-up from Caswell Lakes Lp in Willow. AST located the stolen vehicle at a property in Big Lake. Investigation continues but AST has developed a suspect.

May 24 at 2:24 p.m., AST responded to a reported burglary and theft sometime between May 22 and May 24. A Barley Ave residence in Wasilla was broken into and $750 of items were stolen.

May 25 at 8:15 a.m., AST responded to a stolen silver 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Knik Goose Bay Rd and Fairview Lp in Wasilla. The vehicle was taken at some time during the previous night.

May 25 at 1:18 p.m., AST received of a report of stolen totes, valuables, and household items valued at $8,000 from the attached garage at a residence on Pasture Place in Palmer. The items were stolen between 4:00 on May 26 and 1:18 p.m. on May 27.

May 25 at 1:52 p.m., AST responded to a disturbance where a citizen reported locating a stolen vehicle. AST found 21 year old Byron Dugan of Wasilla in possession of stolen parts and a stolen Polaris ATV. Dugan was arrested for Theft by Receiving 2nd and 3rd degrees, and AST also found 20 year old Mosiah Renk of Wasilla who refused to identify himself and had 4 outstanding arrest warrants. Renk was also charged with False Information and MICS 4. Both were taken to MSPT.

May 28 at 2:00 p.m., AST received a report of a stolen Suzuki ATV from a conex container on Caswell Lakes Dr in Caswell in the last seven months.

May 28 at 7:12 p.m., AST received a report of two stolen dirt bikes: a blue and white 2008 Yamaha TTR 125, and a red and white 2015 Honda CRF 150. The dirt bikes were stolen from a home near Moose Park Dr in Wasilla.

May 29 at 10:01 p.m., AST received a report that a purse was stolen from a silver 2011 Subaru parked at Reflections lake between 8:45 and 9:45 p.m.

BAD DRIVERS

May 23 at 5:57 a.m., AST reported to a single vehicle rollover near mile 5 of Talkeetna Spur in Talkeetna. 20 year old Tyler Hamm of North Carolina lost control of his 2008 Nissan Xterra and rolled into the ditch while driving intoxicated. Hamm was arrested for DUI, transported to MSPT and released on his own recognizance.

May 23 at 6:14 p.m., AST responded to a single vehicle collision near S Goose Creek in Wasilla and found 54 year old Douglas Telkamp of Wasilla. Telkamp was arrested for DUI and taken to MSPT.

May 23 at 6:27 p.m., AST responded to a single vehicle collision near mile 15 of Petersville Road in Trapper Creek. 56 year old Otis Orth of Trapper Creek lost control of his 1994 Mitsubishi pick-up on a curve, careened into a ditch and struck a tree while under the influence of alcohol. Orth received medical treatment and was then arrested for DUI and taken to MSPT on $500.00 bail.

May 25 at 11:54 p.m., AST responded to an ATV rollover accident on Zero Lake Rd in Houston. 43 year old Darlene Amstutz of Palmer was operating an ATV with a six year old minor. The minor was taken to MSRMC and treated for minor injuries. Both were wearing helmets, and Amstutz was taken to MSPT for DUI, Refusal to Submit a Chemical Test and Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1.

May 26 at 12:31 a.m., AST received a report of a dangerous driver in a Ford F-350 pick-up truck near Parks Hwy and Big Lake Rd. 22 year old Lina Savchuk of Wasilla failed Standard Field Sobriety Tests, was arrested for DUI and transported to MSPT where she was released on her own recognizance.

May 26 at 5:06 p.m., AST responded to a sedan vs. motorcycle accident. 64 year old Bever St John of Trapper Creek was turning her 2005 Chevy Impala into a parking lot near mile 99 of the Parks Hwy in Talkeetna when she collided with the red 2000 Harley-Davidson driven by 53 year old Allen Leavelle of Eagle River. Leavelle was airlifted to an Anchorage hospital for head trauma, but was conscious and alert. Leavelle was not wearing a helmet and St John was wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol is not a factor

May 26 at 6:27 p.m., AST attempted pursued a green Honda Civic on the Parks Hwy near Telsitna St for five miles after the Civic was exceeding 100 mph in 55 and 45 mph zones and driving into oncoming lanes of traffic. AST terminated their pursuit on W Stetson Cir when the people inside the vehicle hopped out and ran into the woods. Investigation continues.

May 26 at 7:15 p.m., AST received a report of a dangerous driver and arrested 19 year old Cerys Green of Anchorage near the Parks Hwy and Hermon Rd. Green was charged with DUI and MICS 4, transported to MSPT and released on her own recognizance.

May 26 at 10:39 p.m., AST responded to a collision on E Bogard Rd and N Leatherleaf Loop in Wasilla. 28 year old Clifford Alexander of Wasilla was driving his 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee while intoxicated, failed to stay in his lane and was arrested for DUI and Refusal, taken to MSPT on $500 bail.

May 27 at 7:00 a.m., AST arrested 28 year old Timothy Jones of Wasilla who was sleeping in his 2005 GMC Pickup on private property near Northgate Dr in Wasilla. Jones had an 16.5” illegal shotgun in his possession. The shotgun was confiscated, Jones was arrested, trespassed, and taken to MSPT awaiting arraignment for bail.  

May 27 at 10:57 p.m., AST found 45 year old David Myers of Anchorage operating a Chevy truck towing a boat while under the influence of alcohol. Meyers was arrested and taken to MSPT where is held on $500 bail and his truck and boat was towed.

May 29 at 1:11 a.m., AST was informed by a truck driver of 53 year old Ricky Justice who bumped the truck and may have lost the driver’s side mirror. AST located Justice near Sutton and was arrested for previous warrants of Escape 2nd, Criminal Trespass 1, Vehicle Theft 1, DUI, MIW 3, and an Anchorage warrant for Concealment of Merchandise. Justice was served to MSPT and held without bail.

May 29 at 9:13 p.m., AST stopped 37 year old Jonathan Laselle’s truck for speeding near mile 116 of the Richardson Hwy. Laselle was operating while impaired and tried driving away after resisting arrest. He was later arrested and taken to the Glennallen Trooper post where he also refused to provide a breath sample. Laselle was charged with DUI, Refusal and Resisting Arrest and held at the Glenallen post pending arraignment.

May 30 at 2:46 a.m., AST was notified of a Semi vs. Moose incident near mile 66 of the Glenn Hwy. The Lyndon Transport semi truck was driven by 33 year old David Weston, who was able to drive away and the truck received minor damage. The moose was salvaged for charity.

RANDOM CRIMINALS

May 21 at 7:03 p.m., AST stopped to check on a male lying on the shoulder of a roadway near mile 88 of the Parks Hwy in Willow. 39 year old Brandin Hochstrasser of Palmer was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest, transported to MSPT and held without bail.

May 23 at 4:00 p.m., AST, Palmer Judicial Services warrant unit contacted 44 year old Brandy Ford of Wasilla and arrested Ford on an outstanding warrant for VCOR without incident and took her to MSPT without bail.

May 25 at 12:01 a.m., AST conducted a welfare check on two intoxicated males walking near mile 99 of the Parks Hwy and revealed that 24 year old Daven Lathan of Trapper Creek had an outstanding FTA warrant. Lathan was arrested and taken to MSPT on $100 bail.

May 26 at 8:45 p.m., AST responded to a disturbance near mile 71 of the Parks Hwy in Willow and arrested 27 year old Demario Williams of Wasilla on an existing arrest warrant for failure to comply with conditions of probation. Williams was taken to MSPT with 4 days to serve.
