Alaska State Troopers

As of now, the Valley has 36 Alaska State Troopers, 14 less than it had in 2005, according to Mayor Vern Halter, who also added that he had been informed that an adequate trooper number to police the borough was 85.

All information reported in the Police Beat is obtained from police department press releases. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

September 3 at 11:30 p.m., AST arrested 48-year-old Bradley Stephens of Wasilla/Wisconsin following a disturbance off of Horizon Drive in Wasilla. Stephens was taken to MSPt on charges of Criminal Mischief 4 and Assault 4 (DV) without bail.

September 5 at 1:09 a.m., AST arrested 38-year-old Kristin Gwin-Stewart following a disturbance on West Maplewood Road in Big Lake. Gwin-Stewart was taken to MSPT on charges of Criminal Mischief without bail.

September 2 at 2:05 p.m., AST arrested 25-year-old Erin Flanders of Wasilla for Assault 4 (DV) following a disturbance in Wasilla. Flanders was taken to MSPT without bail.

September 2 at 3:53 a.m., AST arrested 21-year-old Mosiah Renk of Wasilla on an outstanding FTA warrant on the O/C of Assault 4. Renk was taken to MSPT on $50 bail.

August 31 at 7:10 p.m., AST arrested 31-year-old Denise Keys of Anchorage for Assault 4 (DV) following a 911 hangup. Keys was taken to MPST without bail.

August 31 at 7:01 p.m., AST arrested 33-year-old Patrick Cole of Wasilla on a $500 warrant on the O/C of MICS 2. Cole was taken to MSPT on $500 bail.

August 31 at 10:03 a.m., AST arrested 37-year-old Simon Unin of Wasilla for trespassing at a residence on Ryan Circle in Wasilla. Unin was charged with Criminal Trespassing 1 and additionally VCOR and taken to MSPT without bail.

August 30 at 11:37 p.m., AST arrested 27-year-old Marissa Tomaganuk of Wasilla following an active physical disturbance on Audie Street in Wasilla. Tomaganuk was taken to MSPT on charges of Assault 4, Criminal Mischief 4, and also VCOR from prior criminal cases.

August 31 at 3:45 a.m., AST attempted to stop 31-year-old John Ahearn of Wasilla in a white Dodge truck speeding on Aspen Ridge Road in Wasilla. Ahearn fled at a high rate of speed before taking the power line trail in an effort to elude troopers. Ahearn was ultimately arrested on a warrant on the O/C of Assault 3 and additionally charged with FTS 1 and taken to MSPT.

August 29 at 11:30 p.m., AST arrested 38-year-old Anthony Attungowruk of Wasilla following a disturbance on Church Road in Wasilla. Attungowruk was charged with two counts of Assault 4 (DV) and taken to MSPT without bail.

August 30 at 4:37 a.m., AST arrested 35-year-old Sonya Charles of Sutton for Criminal Mischief 4 (DV) following a reported disturbance on Eska Mine Road. Charles was taken to MSPT without bail.

August 12 at 4:42 p.m., AST received a report of a stolen homemade smoker from Willow. AST served a search warrant for the missing smoker at 8:40 p.m., on August 28 to 58-year-old William Billsbrough, the victim’s neighbor who had posted photos of the stolen smoker. Billsbrough was taken to MSPT on charges of Theft 3 and Criminal Trespass and released O/R.

August 29 at 1:20 p.m., AST with the Palmer Judicial Services arrested 22-year-old Byron Dugan of Wasilla on a FTA warrant on the O/C of Theft 2 and VCOR. Dugan was taken to MSPT on $2,500 cash bail.

PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT

August 26, PPD arrested 36-year-old Joshua Dakutak of Palmer for DWLR and MICS 4. Dakutak was taken to MSPT without bail.

August 26, PPD issued a summons to 36-year-old Jeffery Cielli of Palmer for Improper Use of Registration.

August 26, PPD issued a summons to 59-year-old Tammy Unger of Houston for DWLI.

August 26, PPD issued a summons to 24-year-old Bradley Dull of Palmer for DWLI.

August 26, PPD issued a summons to 23-year-old Alex Siaosi of Palmer for DVIP.

August 27, PPD issued a summons to 49-year-old Chrisopher Berthelsen of Palmer for DWLI.

August 27, PPD arrested 42-year-old Terra Stanley of Palmer for DWLS. Stanley was taken to MSPT on $250 bail.

August 27, PPD assisted by WPD arrested 25-year-old Hunter Tamez of Palmer for FTS 1, Reckless Driving, DWLR, and VCOR. Tamez was taken to MSPT without bail.

August 28, PPD arrested 34-year-old Jamie Hale of Wasilla for Theft 4, Criminal Trespass 2 and two counts of VCOR. Hale was taken to MSPT on $500 bail.

August 28, PPD issued a summons to 43-year-old Stephanie Flanders of Wasilla for DWLR.

August 29, PPD arrested Kristin Gwin-Stewart on a $500 warrant for FTA on the O/C of DLWR and VCOR. Gwin-Stewart was taken to MSPT.

August 29, PPD arrested 32-year-old Matthew Nelson of Palmer on a $100 FTA warrant on the O/C of DUI. Nelson was taken to MSPT.

August 30, PPD arrested 20-year-old Tagaloalagi Tuisaua of Big Lake on two counts of Assault 4. Tuisaua was taken to MSPT on $1,000 bail.

August 30, PPD issued a summons to 49-year-old Nicole Sherwood of Palmer for DLWR.

August 30, PPD issued a summons to 27-year-old Loren Nerguson of Wasilla for DWLI.

August 31, PPD arrested 23-year-old Maxwell Bonderoff of Anchorage for Removal of Alcoholic Beverage from Licenced Premises and Theft 4. Bonderoff was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

August 31, PPD issued a summons to 23-year-old Nicholas Jenkins of Palmer for Removal of Alcoholic Beverage from Licensed Premises and Theft 4. Jenkins was released at the scene.

August 31, PPD arrested 52-year-old Allen Reynolds of Talkeetna for DUI. Reynolds was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

August 31, PPD arrested 21-year-old Catlyn Oakes-Jette of Wasilla for DUI. Oakes-Jette was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

August 31, PPD arrested 40-year-old William Strain of Kenai for DWLR and DWLI. Strain was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

September 1, PPD arrested 30-year-old Daniel Russell of Wasilla for DUI and Theft 3. Russell was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

September 1, PPD arrested 47-year-old Nicolao Kojin of Wasilla for DUI. Kojin was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

WASILLA POLICE DEPARTMENT

August 26 at 9:42 p.m., WPD responded to a report of theft at Sportsman’s Warehouse and forwarded one charge of Theft 4 to the DAO for 20-year-old Lucien Blodgett of Wasilla.

August 26 at 5:30 p.m., WPD forwarded one charge of DWLI to the DAO for 28-year-old Paige Alden of Wasilla.

August 27, WPD received a report of a female shoplifter running out of WalMart who had lost her stolen items and ID. Charges of Theft 2 and Theft 3 will be issued to the DAO against Velvet Fox.

August 27 at 7:00 a.m., WPD pursued 31-year-old Dominic Yacovelli of Wasilla following an attempted traffic stop. Yacovelli led WPD on a four-mile pursuit before exiting his vehicle. Yacovelli was apprehended by K9 Echo and taken to MSPT on his outstanding warrants and charges of Felony Eluding and three charges of Assault 3.

August 27 at 6:00 p.m., WPD received a report of a firearm at Value Village and revealed that 21-year-old Conor Carvalho had hidden the pistol in the jacket. As a convicted felon, charges of MICS 3 will be forwarded to the DAO for Carvalho.

August 28 at 9:35 p.m., WPD charged 44-year-old Charles Watson with Assault 4 following a reported disturbance.

August 29, WPD took a counterfeit $50 from First National Bank.

August 29, WPD arrested 35-year-old Brittany Dolechek of Wasilla for three outstanding warrants and additional charges of Theft and False Information forwarded to the DAO.

August 29 at 10:49 p.m., WPD attempted a traffic stop on Christopher Hinton, who was driving a black motorcycle on Seward-Meridian Parkway. Hinton fled WPD at a high rate of speed and crashed at the Palmer-Wasilla Highway. Hinton was charged with Eluding 1 and VCOR.

August 30 at 12:32 a.m., WPD responded to a report of a shoplift at Wal-Mart. Lorenzo Hausser was found with the suspect vehicle near the store with the stolen items in his possession. Hausser was charged with MICS 5 and Theft 4 through the DAO.

August 30 at 10:03 a.m., WPD arrested 38-year-old Michael Lords of Wasilla for DUI. Lords provided a .129 BRAC and was taken to MSPT on $500 performance bail. Additionally, WPD forwarded two counts of MIW 4 to the DAO.

August 30, WPD arrested Oscar Nerguson of Waisilla for Probation Violation and was taken to MSPT. An additional charge of Theft is being forwarded to the DAO.

September 1 at 12:08 a.m., WPD arrested Justice Maxwell for Assault 4 (DV) following a disturbance on Kinzi Circle.

ALASKA WILDLIFE TROOPERS

August 31, AWT cited 42-year-old Mary Tucker of Wasilla for failing to salvage all edible meat of a caribou she harvested.

September 1, AWT cited 36-year-old Kevin Saechow of Wasilla $170 for failing to cancel his RC562 permit after harvesting a caribou in GMU13B.

August 28, AWT in Valdez cited 29-year-old Keith Edens of Wasilla for commercial fishing in the closed waters of a salmon stream.

BUREAU OF HIGHWAY PATROL

August 30 at 1:39 p.m., AST arrested 68-year-old Ralph Moore II following a traffic stop for a moving violation. Moore had a misdemeanor warrant for FTA on the O/C of MICS 4. Moore was taken to MSPT and Moore’s vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
