Alaska State Troopers

As of now, the Valley has 36 Alaska State Troopers, 14 less than it had in 2005, according to Mayor Vern Halter, who also added that he had been informed that an adequate trooper number to police the borough was 85.

All information reported in the Police Beat is obtained from police department press releases. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

September 9 at 9:33 a.m., AST with Palmer Judicial Services arrested 31-year-old DAminic Yacovelli of Anchorage for VCOR. Yacovelli was taken to MSPT on $200 cash/corporate appearance bail.

September 2 at 7:52 a.m., AST received a report of a stolen Honda CR-V from the intersection of Trunk Road and Palmer Fishhook Road. The vehicle was later recovered along Bodenburg Loop near the Old Glenn Highway in Palmer. Investigation is ongoing.

September 3 at 11:53 a.m., AST arrested 34-year-old Richard Brown of Meadow Lakes on an outstanding FTA warrant on the O/C of Criminal Mischief 5. Brown was taken to MSPT on $200 bail.

September 9 at 1:30 a.m, AST arrested Orrin Pinard following a reported disturbance in Talkeetna. Pinard was charged with Criminal Mischief 3, Assault 4 on a Police Officer, three counts of Disorderly Conduct and Indecent Exposure 2. Pinard was taken to MSPT without bail.

September 8 at 10:33 p.m., AST and WPD arrested 31-year-old Justin Jacobsen of Wasilla on a warrant for Theft 4 and additional charges of Criminal Trespass 1 and Criminal Mischief 4. Jacobsen was taken to MSPT on $150 bail.

September 8 at 7:19 p.m., AST arrested 40-year-old Nicholas Lorimer for Assault 4 (DV). Lorimer was taken to MSPT without bail.

September 8 at 6:12 p.m., AST responded to MSRMC for a reported gunshot victim. Investigation continues.

September 6 at 11:52 p.m., AST arrested 40-year-old Wesley Choy of Talkeetna for DUI near mile 14 of Talkeetna Spur Road. Choy was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

September 6 at 1:47 p.m., AST received a report of a dangerous driver and arrested 36-year-old Elsie Breckheimer of Wasilla failing to maintain her lane near mile 31 of the Glenn Highway. Breckheimer performed poorly on SFST’s and provided a BRAC of .217 and was taken to

MSPT on charges of DUI.

September 10 at 4:39 p.m., AST arrested 34-year-old Derick Baisch of Wasilla following a domestic disturbance on North Hilltop Drive in Wasilla. Baisch is charged with Criminal Mischief 3 (DV) and was taken to MSPT without bail.

ALASKA WILDLIFE TROOPERS

September 3, AWT in Delta were contacted by ADF&G in reference to a bull moose being harvested without a permit. AWT cited 46-year-old Christopher Fitchner of Wasilla near mile 267 of the Richardson Highway for Moose Seasons and Bag Limits and scheduled an arraignment date.

September 8, AWT in Wasilla cited 67-year-old David Dickerson of Wasilla for taking a sub legal moose in GMU 16A. The antlers were seized as evidence and the meat was given to charity.

September 9, AWT in Mat-Su issued a summons to 35-year-old Jonathan Pacheco Cruz of Wasilla for harvesting a sub legal moose in GMU 14. The antlers were seized as evidence and the meat was given to charity.

PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT

September 2, PPD issued a summons to 34-year-old Chase Apalone of Wasilla for Theft 3.

September 2, PPD arrested 22-year-old Elijah Cruthers of Palmer for DUI, MIW 4 and MIW 5. Cruthers was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

September 2, PPD issued a summons to 23-year-old Cody Rissew of Palmer for DWLR.

September 2, PPD arrested 21-year-old Joanne Kameroff of Palmer for assault 4. Kameroff was taken to MSPT without bail.

September 2, PPD arrested 38-year-old Beau Bishop of Palmer on a $100 warrant for a Petition to Revoke Probation for ASAP. Bishop was taken to MSPT.

September 3, PPD arrested 25-year-old Jamie Wooley of Houston for $600 in warrants for FTA on the O/C of VCOR and Assault 4.

WASILLA POLICE DEPARTMENT

September 2 at 10:45 p.m., WPD charged Ira See Jr., with DWLI following a traffic stop near Swanson Avenue and North Knik Street.

September 4 at 8:00 a.m., WPD reported $5,000 worth of tools stolen from a construction site on Sun Mountain Avenue during the preceding holiday weekend. Investigation is ongoing.

September 6 at 12:42 a.m., WPD responded to a report of a shoplifting at Walmart by a vehicle without license plates. WPD located the vehicle which was stolen out of Anchorage two days prior, but the driver fled and was not located.

September 6, WPD arrested 42-year-old Mark Wood of Wasilla for DWLR. Wood was taken to MSPT.

September 7 at 6:52 p.m., WPD arrested 26-year-old Keith Pulver on an active arrest warrant for DLWR. Pulver was taken to MSPT and charges of DLWR are being forwarded to the DAO.

September 8 at 6:00 p.m., WPD issued a summons to 27-year-old Makinley Velasquez of Wasilla for Criminal Trespass 2.

September 8 at 7:26 p.m., WPD arrested Tamra Cox for DLWR following a traffic stop on Wasilla Fishhook Road. Cow was additionally issued citations for lack of insurance and expired registration.
