Alaska State Troopers

As of now, the Valley has 36 Alaska State Troopers, 14 less than it had in 2005, according to Mayor Vern Halter, who also added that he had been informed that an adequate trooper number to police the borough was 85.

ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

January 29 at 12:41 p.m., AST saw two vehicles in a pullout near mile 127 of the Parks Highway in Trapper Creek. The vehicles had been vandalized and the tires has been stolen, and there have been an increase of vehicles being targeted by thieves in the numerous pullouts and parking areas between Trapper Creek and Cantwell.

January 29 at 4:48 p.m., AST issued a summons to 48-year-old MIchael Latham of Willow for driving without Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance.

January 31 at 6:05 p.m, AST arrested 49-year-old Norman Sandstol of Anchorage for DUI and Refusal to submit to a chemical test after he had been called in as a dangerous driver and stopped on Pittman Road and Midnight Sun Road in Wasilla.

February 2 at 1:38 a.m., AST arrested 37-year-old Levi Allain of Glennallen who was the occupant of a suspicious vehicle on the side of the road near Mile 64 of the Glenn Highway in Sutton. Allain had a handgun and was arrested for MIWS 4 and taken to MSPT until sober.

February 2 at 4:55 p.m., AST arrested 27-year-old Zachary Murphy of Anchorage following a disturbance in Big Lake. Murphy was taken to MSPT for Assault 4 (DV) and held without bail.

February 2 at 10:06 a.m, AST received a report of a white sedan stolen from a residence in Wasilla within the last 12 hours.

February 3 at 12:01 a.m., AST responded to a physical altercation on South Singing Woods Drive and forwarded charges to the DAO.

February 3 at 12:18 a.m., AST arrested 26-year-old Monica Thorne of Willow for Assault 4 (DV), Criminal Mischief 4, and Interfering with the Report of DV. AST responded to a disturbance in Willow and arrested Thorne, who was taken to MSPT.

February 5 at 11:16 p.m., AST arrested 27-year-old Benjamin Pope of Wasilla for DUI. Pope was stopped for speeding and passing in a no passing zone on Vine Road and taken to MSPT on $500 bail.

February 6 at 1:42 a.m., AST arrested 50-year-old Christy Lange of Wasilla following a disturbance on Ingrid Court in Wasilla. Lange was charged with Assault 4 (DV) and taken to MSPT without bail.

February 6 at 2:38 a.m., AST arrested 47-year-old Marc Estermyer of Willow for DUI. Estermyer was stopped near mile 70 of the Parks Highway and taken to MSPT.

ALASKA WILDLIFE TROOPERS

February 2, AWT issued a summons to appear in Palmer Court to 57-year-old Gordon Bell of Palmer for littering. Bell dumped 21 bags of garbage off Maud Road in the Butte.

PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT

January 28, PPD forwarded charges of Assault 3 to the DAO for 53-year-old Christopher Dickerson of Palmer.

January 29, PPD arrested 28-year-old Jarrod Freeman of Palmer for DUI. Freeman was taken to MSPT on $500 bail.

January 29, PPD arrested 43-year-old Thomas Snow of Palmer on charges of Criminal Trespass 2. Snow was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

Janu 29, PPD arrested 35-year-old Samuel Harris of Anchorage for VCOR and Disorderly Conduct. Harris was taken to MSPT on $250 bail.

January 31, PPD arrested 33-year-old Karl Sampson of Palmer for Theft 3 and Criminal Trespass 2. Sampson was taken to MSPT on $500 bail.

February 2, PPD arrested 38-year-old Jeffery Makay of Palmer on a $20,000 warrant for FTC with conditions of probation on the O/C of MICS 4. Makay was taken to MSPT.
