Alaska State Troopers

As of now, the Valley has 36 Alaska State Troopers, 14 less than it had in 2005, according to Mayor Vern Halter, who also added that he had been informed that an adequate trooper number to police the borough was 85.

All information reported in the Police Beat is obtained from police department press releases. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

August 13 at 6:10 p.m., Glennallen AST arrested 23-year-old Nathanial Goodlataw of Chitina following a reported disturbance in Tazlina. Goodlataw was

August 13 at 10:24 p.m., AST in Glennallen arrested 33-year-old Donna Harter of Glennallen following a reported disturbance. Harter was taken to the Glennallen Trooper Post for Assault 4. Alcohol was a factor.

August 14 at 1:06 a.m., AST arrested Daniel Buckwalter following a report of suspicious circumstances on Medora Cross Street in Big Lake. Buckwalter was arrested on an outstanding FTA warrant on the O/C of Theft 4 and taken to MSPT on $250 bail.

August 14 at 1:16 a.m., AST arrested 29-year-old David White of Palmer following a reported disturbance on Cottle Loop in Wasilla. White was charged with Criminal Mischief 3 (DV) and taken to MSPT without bail.

August 14 at 10:59 a.m., AST stopped 35-year-old Alyssa Dallman of Wasilla for speeding on the Parks Highway near Hermon Road. Dallman was arrested on an active federal warrant for probation violation on the O/C of distribution of heroin. Dallman was taken to MSPT.

August 15 at 5:10 p.m., AST responded to a disturbance in Talkeetna and arrested 48-year-old Ryan Letourneau of Talkeetna for DUI and Assault 4 (DV). Letourneau was taken to MSPT without bail.

August 15 at 8:40 p.m., AST received a report of a dangerous driver and arrested Richard Gerondale of Wasilla for DUI after discovering his vehicle in the ditch on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway. Gerondale was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

August 16 at 5:30 p.m., AST arrested 27-year-old Michael Flores of Wasilla following a Trespass investigation on Admiralty Circle in Wasilla. Flores had an outstanding warrant for Assault 4 and was taken to MSPT.

August 16 at 7:20 a.m., AST arrested 22-year-old Christopher Perry of Palmer in a vehicle on Maud Road in Palmer that had been reported stolen the day before. AST located stolen items from a construction site and stolen mail and Perry was taken to MSPT on charges of Vehicle Theft 1, Theft 1,2, and 3, Burglary 2, and Criminal Mischief 5.

August 16 at 9:12 p.m., Glennallen AST arrested 37-year-old Jeremy Mishler of Chitina for DUI and MIW 4 near mile 4 of the Edgerton Highway. Mishler was taken to the Glennallen Trooper Post.

August 16 at 11:11 p.m., AST responded to West Admiralty Circle to a report of neighbors fighting and issued 24-hour disorderly conduct warnings to all parties involved. Approximately four hours later, AST arrested 48-year-old Kenneth Tyson for causing a disturbance. Tyson was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

August 17 at 12:43 a.m., AST arrested 45 cited-old Maria Gilpin of Wasilla for DWLR from a previous DUI charge following a traffic stop for an equipment violation at the intersection of Seward-Meridian Parkway and North Spruce Drive in Wasilla. Gilpin also was on DOC pretrial supervision and found to be VCOR and issued a misdemeanor citation.

August 17 at 12:45 a.m., AST arrested 22-year-old Walter Cook of Wasilla following a traffic stop for an equipment violation on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway in Wasilla. Cook had an active arrest warrant on the O/C of DUI and was taken to MSPT without bail.

August 17 at 1:06 a.m., AST arrested 60-year-old James Borders of Wasilla following a disturbance on East Tait Drive in Wasilla. Borders was charged with Assault 4 and taken to MSPT.

August 17 at 2:23 a.m., AST responded to a disturbance at Man Made Lake on Knik River Road and arrested 53-year-old Clarence Kameroff of Anchorage for Criminal Mischief 4 and Assault 4. Kameroff was taken to MSPT.

August 17 at 7:28 a.m., AST arrested 22-year-old Byron Dugan of Wasilla was arrested following a pursuit that was terminated on North Erica Drive in Willow. Dugan was arrested for Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer 1 and taken to MSPT without bail.

August 17 at 7:06 p.m., AST responded to a two vehicle accident on Church Road and issued citations to both drivers for driving on revoked licenses for prior DUI convictions. AST arrested 24-year-old Alexandria Cook of Wasilla for DUI and Ignition Interlock Avoidance. AST issued a DLWR citation to 29-year-old Danya Jopkins. Cook was taken to MSPT on $500 bail.

August 18 at 12:00 p.m., AST received a report of thousands of dollars in stolen tools, equipment, generators, welders, and a 1986 Chevy flatbed dually pickup with a snow plow and a black hood from a hangar near Kate’s Drive in Wasilla between July 26 and July 31.

August 19 at 11:14 a.m., AST arrested 51-year-old Christopher Rowland of Talkeetna for VCOR by consuming alcohol on Main Street in Talkeetna following a disturbance. Rowland was taken to MSPT on $1,000 bail.

August 19 at 11:00 p.m., AST arrested 27-year-old Jayson Featherstone of Willow. Featherstone had an active FTA warrant on the O/C of Assault 4 and was taken to MSPT with 30 days to serve.

August 20 at 9:59 a.m., AST arrested 26-year-old Skyler Marsh of Wasilla following a disturbance on Holly Way in Wasilla. Marsh was charged with Assault 4 (DV) and Criminal Mischief 5 (DV) and taken to MSPT.

August 20 at 3:59 a.m., AST patrolling the Mt. McKinley fire area arrested 38-year-old Jeremiah Saatzer of Talkeetna following a report of an impaired national guardsmen assisting with traffic

August 20 at 11:26 p.m., AST arrested 30-year-old Craig Cubbage of Wasilla for DUI following a traffic stop on Pittman Road in Wasilla. Cubbage was taken to MSPT on $500 bail.

August 21 at 7:20 p.m., AST arrested 41-year-old Brian Bates was arrested in the area of Williwaw Way and taken to MSPT on $200 cash bail.

August 22 at 2:10 a.m., AST cited 20-year-old Juan Ramirez of Wasilla for DWLR from a previous charge of Reckless Driving and was issued a misdemeanor citation and released on scene.

BUREAU OF HIGHWAY PATROL

August 16 at 6:25 p.m., AST BHP received a report of a dangerous driver and arrested 18-year-old Elisha Gardner of Wasilla for DUI on the Parks Highway near Pittman Road. Gardner was taken to MSPT.

PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT

August 14, PPD arrested 22-year-old Christopher Perry of Palmer on $450 in warrants for FTA on the O/C of DUI, VCOR, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Theft 4. Perry was taken to MSPT.

August 14, PPD arrested 29-year-old Angela Backett of Talkeetna on a $500 FTA warrant on the O/C of Theft 2. Backett was taken to MSPT.

August 15, PPD arrested 29-year-old Mitchel Houser of Palmer on a $200 FTC warrant on the O/C of DUI. Houser was taken to MSPT.

August 16, PPD arrested 43-year-old Scot Campbell of Palmer on a $100 FTA warrant on the O/C of Criminal Trespass 2. Campbell was taken to MSPT.

August 17, PPD arrested 19-year-old Myia Henry of Palmer for Providing False Information. Henry was taken to MSPT and released o/R.

August 17, PPD arrested 24-year-old Shana Apokedak of Palmer for Assault 4. Apokedak was taken to MSPT without bail.

August 18, PPD arrested 56-year-old Daniel Nelson of Palmer on a $100 FTA warrant on the O/C of Driving without a Commercial Motor Vehicle License. Nelson was taken to MSPT.

August 18, PPD arrested 28-year-old Tazlina Harker of Palmer on two FTA warrants on the O/C of Theft 2, VCOR and Criminal Trespass 2. Harker was taken to MSPT.

WASILLA POLICE DEPARTMENT

August 12 at 12:05 a.m., WPD issued a summons to Adair Burke following a report of him trespassing at the Holiday Gas Station. Burke was issued a summons for Criminal Trespass 2 and released on scene.

August 12 at 9:00 a.m., WPD arrested 24-year-old Jason Greenwood of Wasilla after a welfare check investigation turned up approximately three grams of methamphetamine. Greenwood was taken to MSPT on a probation violation charge and a MICS 4 charges is also being sent to the DAO.
