Alaska State Troopers

As of now, the Valley has 36 Alaska State Troopers, 14 less than it had in 2005, according to Mayor Vern Halter, who also added that he had been informed that an adequate trooper number to police the borough was 85.

All information reported in the Police Beat is obtained from police department press releases. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

September 26 at 12:25 a.m., AST arrested 58-year-old Jonathan Hard of Palmer for DUI following a report of a dangerous driver near mile 39 of the Glenn Highway. Hard was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

September 26 at 5:28 p.m., AST arrested 20-year-old Joseph Lipscomb of Wasilla for Assault 4 (DV) following a disturbance in Wasilla. Lipscomb was taken to MSPT without bail.

September 26 at 10:56 p.m., AST arrested 47-year-old Sarah Stearns of Talkeetna for DUI. Stearns was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

September 27 at 3:01 a.m., AST arrested 35-year-old Elvis MacPherson of Anchorage for DUI and DWLC following a traffic stop on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway. MacPherson was taken to MSPT on $1,000 bail.

September 29 at 10:00 p.m., AST arrested Justin Harris following an attempted vehicle theft from a business on the West Parks Highway. Harris was taken to MSPT without bail on charges of Vehicle Theft 1 and Assault 3.

September 29 at 11:21 p.m., AST arrested 22-year-old Denise Noes following a disturbance on Pioneer Peak Drive in Wasilla. Noes’ warrant was for FTA on the O/C of Disorderly Conduct. Noes was taken to MSPT.

September 30 at 11:00 a.m., AST arrested 18-year-old Decoste Ables Jr., of Fairbanks at the Palmer Courthouse. Albes had outstanding warrants on the O/C of Assault 3 and two charges of VCOR. Albest was taken to MSPT.

September 30 at 2:03 p.m., AST arrested 25-year-old Jamie Wooley of Wasilla following an attempted traffic stop at the corner of West Chrysan Circle and South Bettina Way in Wasilla. Wooley attempted to elude AST and was arrested following a short pursuit on four outstanding warrants and additionally charged with FTS 2 and taken to MSPT on $1,500 cash bail.

October 1 at 1:36 p.m., AST arrested 59-year-old Deborah Langlois of Wasilla on an outstanding arrest warrant near Big Dipper Drive in Wasilla. Langlois’ warrant was for FTA on the O/C of VCOR. Langlois was taken to MSPt on $500 bail.

October 1 at 4:11 p.m., AST arrested 43-year-old Randy Knutson of Palmer following a disturbance near East Edgerton Parks Road in Hatcher Pass. Knutson had an active FTA warrant on the O/C of Assault 4 and was taken to MSPT on $300 bail.

October 1 at 9:59 p.m., AST arrested 33-year-old Tad Hewitt of Wasilla for DUI following a traffic stop at the intersection of the Parks Highway and Church Road in Wasilla. Hewitt was taken to MSPT and additionally charged with Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test and released O/R.

October 2 at 2:02 p.m., AST arrested 29-year-old Roselyn Shugak of Wasilla following a welfare check on West Overby Street in Wasilla. Shugak was VCOR and providing False Information to Law Enforcement. Shugak had an additional warrant for Neglect and was taken to MSPT on $750 bail.

October 2 at 7:19 p.m., AST arrested 39-year-old Julie Sigurdsson of Big Lake on an outstanding $250 FTA warrant following a traffic stop on Big Lake Road and Hollywood Road in Big Lake. Sigurdsson was taken to MSPT.

ALASKA WILDLIFE TROOPERS

September 20 at 8:46 a.m., AWT in Willow issued a citation to 35-year-old Karl Deutscher for taking a sub-legal moose in GMU 14A.

PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT

September 25, PPD arrested 61-year-old John Johnson of Anchorage for DUI, DWLR and a $1,000 FTA warrant on the O/C of OUI. Johnson was taken to MSPT.

September 25, PPD arrested 37-year-old Larry Miller of Palmer on a $500 FTA warrant on the O/C of DNVL. Miller was taken to MSPT.

September 26, PPD forwarded charges of Criminal Trespass 2 to the DAO for 48-year-old Duane Anderson of Palmer.

September 26, PPD arrested 48-year-old Robert Malone of Palmer for Assault 4. Malone was taken to MSPT without bail.

September 27, PPD arrested 48-year-old Tok Marx of Wasilla for Criminal Mischief 3. Marx was taken to MSPT without bail.

September 27, PPD arrested 23-year-old Calvin Wiggins of Palmer for DUI and a $250 FTA warrant on the O/C of Criminal Trespass 1 and Criminal Mischief 5. Wiggins was taken to MSPT.

September 28, PPD arrested 39-year-old Cassandra Heil of Palmer on a $100 FTA warrant on the O/C of MICS 4. Heil was taken to MSPT.

September 28, PPD forwarded charges of Theft 2 and FUAD to the DAO on 20-year-old Candace Sandvik-Hurt of Palmer. Charges of Theft 2 were forwarded on 24-year-old Haley Young-Drussell.

September 28, PPD arrested 57-year-old Jodel Johnson of Palmer for DUI. Johnson was taken to MSPT and released O/R.

September 29, PPD arrested 27-year-old Justin Henry of Palmer for Criminal Mischief 4 and two counts of Assault 4. Henry was taken to MSPT without bail.

September 29, PPD arrested 29-year-old Shannon McComas of Palmer on a $1,000 FTA warrant on the O/C of DUI.

September 29, PPD arrested 19-year-old Myia Henry of Palmer on a $1,000 FTA warrant on the O/C of False Information. Henry was taken to MSPT.

WASILLA POLICE DEPARTMENT

September 23 at 9:00 a.m., WPD forwarded charges of DWLS to the DAO on 27-year-old Kevin McManus of Wasilla.

September 23 at 1:50 p.m., WPD arrested 29-year-old Christian Gaerlan of Anchorage Theft 4 at Target in Wasilla. Gaerlan was taken to MSPT and charges are being forwarded to the DAO.

September 23 at 4:30 p.m., WPD arrested Brandin Hochstrasser of Wasilla at Fred Meyer for Criminal Trespass 2. Hochstrasser was taken to MSPT.

September 24 at 5:42 a.m., WPD forwarded charges of Theft 4 and Attempted Theft 2 to the DAO on 20-year-old Lucien Blodgett of Wasilla following a theft at a business on Main Street.

September 24 at 10:17 a.m., WPD issued a summons to 18-year-old Kierra Hum of Wasilla for Theft 2.

September 24 at 12:48 p.m., WPD forwarded charges of Theft 4 to the DAO on 20-year-old Lucien Blodgett of Wasilla following a theft from Value Village.

September 24 at 6:40 p.m., WPD arrested Kevin Jefferson for Theft 4 at Brown Jug.

September 25, PPD forwarded charges to the DAO of Violation of a DVPO on 35-year-old Derick Baisch of Big Lake.

September 25 at 4:33 p.m., WPD received a report from the Alaska Club about someone attempting to pass a counterfeit $100 bill. Investigation is ongoing.

September 25 at 11:22 p.m., WPD arrested Harley Magee on charges of Improper Use of Evidence of Registration. Magee was taken to MSPT.

September 26 at 2:09 a.m., WPD issued a summons to Reahna Hayes for Criminal Trespass 2 at Carrs.

September 26, WPD received a report of theft that led to the arrest of 31-year-old Mattew Rollins of Wasilla. Rollins was taken to MSPT.

September 27 at 4:04 a.m., WPD arrested 31-year-old Justin Jacobsen of Wasilla for DWLR. Jacobsen was taken to MSPT.

September 27 at 6:58 p.m., WPD arrested 30-year-old Barbara Bott of Soldotna for Theft 3. Additional charges of MICS 5 were forwarded to the DAO. Bott was taken to MSPT.
