PALMER — The Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman will host a forum with candidates for the Mat-Su Borough Assembly and the Mat-Su Borough School Board in conjunction with the Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce Oct. 19 from 1:30p.m. to 4:30 p.m at the Palmer Senior Center.
Each candidate will be asked to answer identical questions detailing their platform for elected office. Confirmed candidates for assembly who plan to attend are Brian Endle, Tim Hale, Ryan Miller and LaMarr Anderson. Confirmed candidates for school board who plan to attend are Ray Michaelson, Jeff Taylor, Alma Hartley and Jim Hart.
The forum will begin with assembly candidates at 1:30 and the school board forum will follow. Those who cannot attend in person are encouraged to listen to the forum’s live stream on RadioFreePalmer.org or on the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman’s Facebook page.
The Mat-Su Borough elections are Nov. 4. Endle, Hale and Miller are running for a seat on the assembly in District 1. Anderson, Liz Maxson and Stephanie Nowers are running for assembly in District 2. The school board has two races, with Hart running against incumbent Michaelson for Seat 2. Hartley and Ponder are running for Seat 5. Taylor is running unopposed for Seat 7.
