WASILLA — Primrose Retirement Community of Wasilla has recently been named Primrose Community of the Year.

Wasilla Primrose is one of several retirement communities across the country to received the award from the national umbrella organization, Primrose Retirement Communities.

Each year, awards go to Primrose locations that reach or exceed standards in multiple categories, including resident satisfaction, according to a recent press release. Wasilla Primrose’s award was announced on August 17 during the company’s virtual awards ceremony.

“Each year, we recognize Primrose communities across the company who have excelled at

fulfilling our mission of creating happy and healthy living environments for our senior population. This award is a reflection of the team members who are passionate about working together to provide person-centered lifestyles to their residents. We are proud to honor Primrose of Wasilla with this award for 2020,” Primrose Retirement Communities President BJ Schaefbauer stated in the press release.

Wasilla Primrose Property Maintenance Technician, Ray Williams, was named the Primrose Employee of the Year by 40 executive directors across the nation for her unparalleled passion and commitment to serve seniors and continuously collaborating with team members.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to receive this award,” Williams stated in the press release. “The staff here motivate me to want to help and do all that I can.”

According to the press release, Williams was recognized for living out the Primrose core values: “Relentless Improvement, Embrace Change, Accountability, Passion, and Respect.”

“Employees like Ray possess a trait that can’t be taught and that is passion,” Schaefbauer stated in the press release. “We’re honored that Ray has chosen Primrose as the place to fulfill his passion for serving seniors. He enhances not only the lives of our residents but those of his coworkers as well. Ray makes Primrose a great place to live and work. We’re proud to recognize him for his hard work, compassion, and excellence.”

Primrose Retirement Community of Wasilla consists of 27 independent living apartment homes,

41 assisted living apartment homes, and eight townhome villas.
