WILLOW — As of 5:00 p.m. on New Year’s Day, officials with the Mat-Su Borough were recommending that Deneki Road still not be used by vehicles, despite the progress made by Borough Operations and Maintenance Crews.
“There is still high water along the road and usage of Deneki Road is not recommended. Crews will be working tomorrow to manage current progress,” reads a press release from the Department of Emergency Services issued Wednesday.
A town hall will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Willow Community Center for residents to discuss issues with Borough staff. According to the press release, culverts added near the flooded roadway are working as designed and crews were on scene on New Year’s Day vigorously maintaining prior progress to divert Willow Creek away from the roadway. No reportes of water on Friday Road, Creekside Road or Burrow Road were made on Wednesday.
