Glen Edward Hamilton Sr.
79 passed away, Wednesday, August 21st, 2019 at his home Wasilla, Alaska surrounded by close family and friends. He was a warrior fighting his battle with cancer for 17 years.
Glen was born December 22, 1939 in Little Fork, Minnesota to Fred Cleveland and Zella May (Hall) Hamilton. On September 4, 1958. He married his beautiful bride Mary Angelica Kanoun in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In Montana, Glen was a fire fighter, a logger and a truck driver. His favorite job was being a packer & guide to hunters unfamiliar to Big Sky Country. He worked as an ironworker in Spokane, WA prior to moving his family to Alaska (1974) and working on the North Slope as a master mechanic, welder and heavy equipment operator. He retired from the Operating Engineers Union. Glen served with the Army National Guard as a recruiter.
Glen is survived by his loving wife Mary of 61 years and his five children and their spouses. Sons; Glen (Ed) Hamilton Jr. and wife Lois, Gregory Hamilton and wife Lori, Daughters; Mary Lynn Hamilton-Krueger and husband James, DeeJana Engle and Husband Jerrell, and Donnita Hamilton- All of Wasilla, Alaska. He is additionally survived by Brother; Leanord Hamilton of Washington; Sister Sandra Lloy of Hawaii; and numerous nieces; nephews; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Corina May, his parents, Fred and Zella, and siblings Fred, Al, Donnie, Lucy & MaryBell.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 31st, 2019 at the Government Peak Chalet, 10690 N. Mountain Trails Drive, Palmer, AK, 99645.

Due to the challenges cancer brings, Glen had no life insurance. In Lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations for memorial services.
