Kenneth Raymond Burns
Kenneth Raymond “Ken” Burns, 73, Wasilla, AK, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday April 25, 2021, after being diagnosed 10 years earlier with prostate cancer.
Ken was born May 1, 1947, to Les and Kathleen Burns, along with a brother Norman and sister Chris in Sonora, California. Ken had been married to Cynthia (Cindy) Burns for the past ten and a half years. Ken was a registered nurse. He had his master’s degree in child psychology and spent most of his nursing career working in an adult mental hospital. In his later years he owned a gate company in Sonora. Ken and Cindy lived there where they raised goats, chickens, and rabbits and did organic farming and gardening. Later they lived in their RV for a couple years in Arizona. Finally, they moved to Alaska where Ken and Cindy were involved with The Child Evangelism Fellowship’s “Good News Club” and “The Well of Hope” a cancer support group.
They called Fairview Loop Baptist Church home. Ken loved the Lord. He served the Lord on the Worship Team singing in the Cantatas and creating scripture plaques for donation to support missions. His other joy was creative cooking.
