Long-time Big Lake resident Marian Michlig passed away at home on December 29, 2020.
She was born December 30, 1936, in Sheppard, Montana. Marian moved to Alaska in 1970 from Montana and never looked back. She enjoyed traveling, life, and was a Platinum Member of “The Alan Jackson Fan Club”. Marian dearly loved her family, friends, and enjoyed playing cards and Bunco. She was a member of the “Red Hat Society” and attended King of Kings Lutheran Church.
Her wishes were to have her cremains scattered in Kona, Hawaii, along with her late husband, Hilary. Marian really enjoyed her home in Hawaii and looked forward to spending her winters there.
She is survived by her son, Rick Nissen, his wife, Kim, and their children, Brie and Jared; son, John Lekse, and his children, Brandy, John Jr. and Danny; son, Bryan Nissen, Lori Kramar, and their children, Jenna, Austin and Jada; stepsons, Joe and Robert Michlig; step daughters, Linda and Lori; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her kind and gentle soul will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Arrangements were performed by Legacy Funeral Home, Kehl’s Palmer Chapel. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date.
