Steve Peldo

Steve Peldo

Heartbreaking and unexpectedly to his family, Steve Peldo passed away October 26th 2021. At 60, troopers reported he had crashed his truck off Vine Road in Wasilla, concluding he had had a heart attack.

His journey began on October 29, 1960, Steve was born and grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. The Peldo’s lived on Tudor and Boniface. Steve, his parents and sister moved to the Mat Su Valley in late 70s, to enjoy Homesteading on 15 acres down Fairview Loop Road.

Steve served 2 1/2 years in the National Guard where he was trained in operating and mechanics of heavy machinery, which guided him to become a mechanic and business owner. He always lived life by his terms. For nearly 25 years he operated and owned Valley Rototilling and Landscaping in the Mat-Su Valley. He also was a fishing guide for a short time just for the pure love of being on the river.

Steve was born into the land where he belonged, with his Finnish and German heritage of ruggedness. He loved fishing for king salmon on the Deshka, hunting ducks from Gunsite Mountain to Lake Louise, hunting caribou & moose from Paxson to Cantwell. Duck & goose hunting in the Susitna Drainage was a favorite pastime. True lifelong Alaskan who embraced each season with its bounty. A strong proud Alaskan, despite hating the cold unless he was plowing snow; a great hobby of his in the winter.

Steve was the most patient dad a girl could ask for. He was a beloved father, grandfather and friend. He was loved so much. His friends Bill, Andy, Greg, Ron and many others will miss him dearly. God is good and we have great comfort in knowing he is reunited with his parents. Funeral will take place 11/13 @ 11am Church of Jesus Christ, on Bogard Rd across from Colony high.
