The Colony Knights topped the defending state champions on their home mat and walked away with a tourney title. Colony beat South Anchorage 42-17 to win the Halloween Monster Bash Duals at South High.

Highlights of Colony’s win over South included Jared Hopkins victory over Niko Mayo in a rematch from the state finals last season. Hopkins, a Colony standout, edged Mayo, a 2018 state champion, 8-6 at 135 pounds. Colony’s Elijah Larsen beat Adam Concepcion, a 2018 state runner-up, 12-10 at 112. TJ Clapp (130), Aidan Ehmann (145), Zac Loutzenhiser (152), Tanner Thornhill (171), Landis Erwin (189), Macarius Floresta (215), Jacob Nelson (285) and Evan Holmes (103) also scored wins against South.

The Knights also beat East Anchorage, Palmer, Wasilla, Bethel, Soldotna and Lathrop during the duals tourney.

Wasilla finished fourth in the tourney. The Warriors beat Bethel, Soldotna, East and Palmer. The Moose finished eighth.
