The Palmer Moose bounced back during the second day of the Alaska Prep Shootout.

Palmer scored a 44-34 win over Kodiak Friday in the annual boys’ basketball hosted by Dimond High School.

The Northern Lights Conference foes were locked in a tie at the end of the first three quarters, but used a 17-7 fourth-quarter run to grab the victory.

Dae Osiensky led all scorers with 21 points, hitting 5 of 9 attempts from beyond the arc. Lavar Marshall added 13 points and six rebounds. Palmer suffered a 66-36 loss to host Dimond during the first game of the tourney Thursday afternoon.

Amiqaq Maclean scored a dozen to lead the Moose. Carson Helm added 10, and Lavar Marshall chipped in seven points and a team-high eight rebounds. Dimond’s Isaiah Moses led all scorers with 30.

Luke Devine used a monster effort to help lead Wasilla to a 43-36 win over Chugiak during the first day of the Shootout Thursday. Devine finished with 26 points, 15 rebounds, three assists and three steals during the win. All were game highs.

West Valley got past Wasilla 49-33 Friday in the semifinals. Devine led the Warriors with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Mt. Edgecumbe needs 3OT to get past Houston

Mt. Edgecumbe needed three overtimes, but found a way to edge Houston 86-82 Friday night at Houston High School.

Houston led after each of the first three quarters, and Edgecumbe forced overtime with an 18-12 fourth-quarter run.

The Braves outscored the Hawks 13-9 during the final overtime. Hayden Howard led the Hawks with 12 points. Hunter Jefferson recorded a double-double, with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Cole Taylor and Kyle McLaughlin also scored 12 points each.

Bethel shines on road

Bethel scored a 76-51 boys’ basketball win over Redington Friday night. Wayde Bowman led the Huskies with 13 points.

Colony girls win

The Colony Knights scored a 67-45 nonconference girls basketball win over East Anchorage Thursday night at Colony High School.
