One Quilt of Valor, representing each branch of service, was presented each day, Tuesday through Saturday. Greg, who served in the Coast Guard, was honored on Tuesday; Bill, who served in the Marines, was honored on Wednesday; Robert, who served in the Army, was honored on Thursday; Tommy, who served in the Navy, was honored on Friday; and Tracy, who served in the Air Force, was honored on Saturday. The events were open to the public. DH-D provided refreshments each day. Saturday’s event included all who were honored.

Quilts of Valor Foundation (QOVF) groups are comprised of volunteers in all 50 states. The volunteers donate time and money to make and award quilts. The QOVF mission is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. Since its inception in 2003, QOVF has awarded over 286,000 quilts nationwide, and over 3,000 in Alaska. If you are a service member or veteran touched by war, or know of one, you may go to the website: https://www.qovf.org/nominations-awards/ and complete a nomination form.
