PALMER — August brings a more personal second Saturday with the one year anniversary of the Palmer Art Walk. To mark that anniversary, the public is invited for a party 4 to 9 p.m., Aug. 10 at the Palmer pavilion. The event includes Valley Cruzers and rock group Element 47.
Palmer Art Walk will operate during its regular hours of 3 to 7 p.m., and will had out free Art Walk magnets, seed bookmarks and sunglasses while supplies last. A list of this month’s Art Walk events follows.
Sip, relax, create. Tap into your inner artist while Arkose taps into their tap lines. Join them for their popular Beer Meets Canvas event from 2 to 4 p.m. Paint freely to this month's theme "Summer Nights" or bring your own inspiration. This local gem host two artists. The first is 9 year-old Samantha Twing, who will demonstrate the art of creating crystal jewelry. Samantha is a student at Sherrod Elementary. The second featured artist will be Jackie Goforth, who will demonstrate the art of crewel, cross-stitch and petit point.

Celebrate this month's Art Walk at Cover Ups as artist Kathleen Stone invites you to "EQUILIBRIUM," an art show featuring new paintings that explore color, shape and texture. Be sure to stop by and meet her from 3 to 8 p.m.
This great local vendor of the written word will be celebrating the Art Walk's one-year anniversary with live music performed by Melissa Kaylor and Andrew Ferguson from 3 to 7 p.m.
This gift store will be going celestial with its unique display of stars in its store. If you play your cards right you also may be able to walk away with a star of your very own.
Come out and shop late during the Art Walk until 8 p.m. for Side Kicks' 17th anniversary sale, including 17 percent off everything. Side Kicks will also be displaying items from all of their 18 local artists (and all of their items will be available for purchase). Local artist Patti Dubbler opened Side Kicks 17 years ago.
This delicious gift store celebrate Art Walk with the art of food. Store owner and caterer Denise Statz will serve up her grab-and-go culinary delights from her food truck in front of her store, so be sure to stop on by, grab a bite to eat and maybe something special for your own kitchen from her store.
Stop by the studio of Radio Free Palmer 89.5 FM to see how a radio station works. Tour the studio, talk with program hosts and sit in front of a microphone to be recorded.

The Museum will be displaying its new exhibit “The Art of Ink,” a history of the development of the tattoo and how it has evolved into its own art form. The exhibit was created with the support and participation of By The Spirit Photography, BPU, Cynful Ink and Artic Ink. As part of the Art Walk festivities, there will be an outdoor photo booth with Cat Dossett where you can photograph your own tattoo and share its special meaning with the public. Don't have a tattoo? No problem, NOVA Aesthetic Medicine and Laser Center will be on the grounds offering visitors an opportunity to get their own temporary glimmer tattoo. Also on the museum grounds will be members of the Valley Fine Arts Association, who will be displaying and selling their work. Artists include: Peggy Benson, Eileen O.
