May 26-29 is the 2017 Trapper Creek Revival, a bluegrass festival with more than 40 acts this year. Some have described the festival as a large playground. With a long history rooted in the mind of the community, it has been a large venue for bands across the state and also seems to be a time of year where Alaskans from many backgrounds come together with an overall spirit of connectivity and creative expression, be it flamboyant costumes or the simple strum of a melody everyone’s moving to.
Locally, tickets are available at The Shack in Wasilla.
Acts include: The AK Fire Circus, Ghost Town Gospel, Intuitive Compass, The Jephries, The Dirty Hands, The Avery Wolves, Fairbanks Fire & Flow, The Shoot Dangs, The Heretic Foundation, Samm bones, Old Timber, Daughter Shoulda Named Her, Brooke Amber, Green Tara's Honkytonk Smorgasborg, Ukelele Russ, Chainsaw & The Fine Particulates, Saucy Yoda, Jason Ott, Dead Calm, Songweeds, Hanna Corral, Kat Watson, Frannie & Friends, John Budnik Band, Space Whale, Sam Sawyer, Brett, Cherie Bowman, Alex, Bryce, Carmella, Birch, Goatwulf, Wash Your Hands, Phineas Gauge, Riesa Rose, SunDog, Sid n Ashleigh, and others.
