Alaska Peace Officers Association’s annual Anchorage concert moved to Palmer Fairgrounds to follow state health mandates

WASILLA — The Alaska Peace Officers Association moved their annual fundraising concert from the Egan Center in Anchorage to the Borealis Stage inside the Palmer Fairgrounds so they can have more attendees without the limited capacity for an indoor event.

The concert benefits peace officers who serve in the Anchorage and Mat-Su Valley. All funds go toward the program and local scholarships for students in both communities.

The public is invited to support their community while enjoying live entertainment, Tuesday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. and access is through the purple gate.

Performances include two acts visiting from the Lower 48. Comedian Mark Cordes and country singer Aaron Tippin will take the stage this year.

Event organizers urge attendees to wear face masks and remain socially distant throughout the event. They’re also encouraged to bring their lunch and blankets to sit on.
