‘Alaska Positive’ exhibition postponed to 2016

JUNEAU — As construction of the new State Library, Archives and Museum building progresses, Alaska Positive — the museum’s statewide juried photographic exhibition — will be postponed until 2016, when the museum reopens. The call for entries will be in spring 2016, and the Alaska Positive exhibition will open in fall 2016.

Please note that Rarefied Light, the photography exhibit put on by the Alaska Photographic Center, will have its next call for entry in April.

The juror will be renowned photographer Joyce Tenneson. Anchorage Museum will host Tenneson for the Rarefied Light lecture and workshop July 24-27, and the exhibit will open at the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center in October. The prospectus coming out in April will have detailed information about entries and workshop registration.

The Alaska State Museum will reopen in the new State Library, Archives and Museum building at 395 Whittier St. in April 2016.
