• Jan. 6, 10 to Noon, instructor Julie Nolen will teach a free class called “Starting a Business” at the Palmer Public Library, co-hosted by the Palmer Chamber of Commerce. This workshop will cover basic issues faced when starting a new small business.
• Jan. 10 is the deadline for “Profit Mastery”. Take your business to the next level with Julie Nolen. This 20 hour, high level business financials class is Jan. 18, 19, 25, & 26th from 12 to 5 p.m. Limited time offer of $200.
• Jan. 11, 12 to 4 p.m., instructor Julie Nolen will teach you “How to Write an Effective Business Plan” a $50 class. This workshop will cover the basics of writing a business plan and how it can help you focus your business, obtain financing, and keeping your business on track.
• Jan. 12, 9 to 10:30 a.m., grant writing instructor Bea Adler will teach the facts about where grants come from, grant eligibility, and why for-profit businesses do not qualify for most funding. Learn about the few legitimate funding opportunities that do exist. Take this new $20 class called “The Myth of Grants for Businesses”.
• Jan. 13, 8 to 10 a.m., will be the first of a $10 monthly women’s breakfast called “What Women Want: Networking”, topics change monthly, this month learn how to make the most of your networking opportunities. Co-sponsored in part by Key Bank, Lakeshore Entertaining & Event Management, and Diamond Airport Parking.

• Jan. 18, 9:30 to 11 a.m., Attorney Andrew Mitton will provide a new monthly class with different topics. This month “Strategies for Tenants of Commercial Leases” you will learn how to negotiate smart leases, minimize leasing costs, and improve your bottom line. Cost is $20.
• Jan. 20, 9 to 11 a.m., learn the new way of marketing in today’s world of Google. Instructor Sandi Sturm will teach a $20 class called “Is Your Website Google-ized?”
• Jan. 24, 9 to Noon, instructor Rita Corwin will teach a class called “The Basics of HR, Workers’ Comp, Employee Benefits & Payroll”. What you don't know CAN hurt you! Labor laws and regulations are constantly changing keep your small business current with this class. Cost is $30.
• Jan. 27, 10 to Noon, instructor Amanda Clayton will teach a $20 class called “5 C’s of Credit”. This workshop will cover what a lender will be evaluating on a credit application and what each term means in general.
• Jan. 31, 9 to 11 a.m., instructor Joe Schaafsma will teach you how to use the powerful and cost effective Google Apps to enhance your small business tools with a new class called, “Google Apps in the Cloud for Small Business”, cost $25.
• Jan. 31, 2 to 3 p.m., instructor Nelida Irvine will teach a free class “SBA Programs and Services”. Find out just what the SBA has to offer!
