WASILLA — Arize Entertainment is hosting a teen dance night at the Palmer Train Depot Friday, Sept. 9 from 7 to 11 p.m.
Students ages 14 to 19 are invited to the Back to School Dance, a supervised event featuring a live DJ, arcade games, and refreshments. Arize Entertainment owner Josh Davis said there are chaperones and security personnel at all of their events.
“I’m providing a safe environment for our kids to dance and socialize,” Davis said.
Davis said this event kicks off a series of student dances running through the 2022-2023 school year. He said they’re planning to host 12 to 14 dances, and all schools are welcome.
“I’m trying to give these kids that I didn’t have,” Davis said.
Arize Entertainment holds a variety of teen dance events throughout the year. While a majority of the dances are held at the Palmer Train Depot, they’ve partnered with various venues such as Colony Days and the Alaska State Fair. They also hold dances during Halloween, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and other holidays. Davis said that he aims to continue expanding the program over time.
“This is just the beginning. I’m gonna keep it going,” Davis said.
The next teen dance night is an “Stranger Things” themed event called The Upside Down Dance, and it’s scheduled for Sept. 29.
