MAT-SU — A community spaghetti feed, auction and dance is planned from 6 to 10 p.m., April 12 at American Legion Post 15, 1550 Mystic Circle, Palmer, to help pay the costs of remodeling the home of veteran Ted “Russell” Adkins.
Adkins recently had one of his legs amputated just below his knee due to the complications from diabetes and has been recovering in a medical assisted living facility.
Friends are working to raise funds and remodel his home to make it accessible for him so he can continue to live there self-sufficiently.
The fundraiser includes live music from 8 to 10 p.m. by musician Paul Pike and the band Against the Grain.
Tickets are $10 at the door and kids 12 and younger get in free.
Auction donations and volunteers are needed to help with the event.
For more information, call Mat-Su Alano Club at 376-8669 or visit Facebook at Ted’s “Russell Adkins” Diabetes Benefit page.
