August John Naranjo
August John Naranjo, passed unexpectedly on September 7th, 2021, at his home in Palmer, Alaska. He was born on August 9th, 1981, in Ketchikan Alaska. August moved with his family to Palmer in 1992 and graduated from Palmer High School. After graduation, he went to work for the Mat-Su School District as a custodian. He spent most of his working years there. Those years were only occasionally interrupted by budgetary layoffs. He was quick to find other work but enjoyed his work at the schools and went back as soon as he could. On top of his steadfast commitment to the school district, he would often volunteer to help just about anyone in need, including taking shifts at Bleeding Heart Brewery. He could often be found helping friends by staffing booths at the State Fair, setting up and tearing down events, or filling pints at ale tastings. August is survived by his parents John and Elizabeth Naranjo of Moscow ID; brother Adam Naranjo at large; sister-in-law, Jaime Naranjo; niece, Geneva Naranjo of Palmer; sister, Jeanette De Arman; brother-in-law, Bill De Arman; niece India De Arman of Malden MO; and all the extended friends/family who dearly loved this kindhearted giant. August loved Jesus as evidence by the opening quote on his Instagram page, “Love Jesus for all he has done for me”. He immensely enjoyed art, theater, music, and card, video, and roleplay games. He often gathered with friends to play. He also enjoyed collecting and sampling all kinds of craft beer.
