Author to speak in Palmer

Laurel Downing Bill, co-author of “Aunt Phil’s Trunk,” will share some of the treasured tales from her collection at 7 p.m., Oct. 16 at the Palmer Historical Society’s meeting at the Palmer Public Library.

For more than 40 years, Bill’s aunt, Phyllis Downing Carlson, wrote award-winning pieces from research she compiled on Alaska history. When she died in 1993, her tales were bequeathed to Laurel, who successfully published four volumes of “Aunt Phil’s Trunk.”

Please join us as we listen to Laurel, a third-generation Alaskan, as she shares stories of Alaska’s rugged pioneers.

Palmer Historical Society meets at 7 p.m., on the third Wednesday of the month from August to November.

The Palmer Historical Society meeting is open to members and the public.
