Talkeetna — Saturday, starting at 6:30 p.m. B Wishes will return to her old stomping grounds and perform her “Bookmark Songs.”
She will play songs that represent important “chapters” in her life. Songs will then range in style and emotion as she strums through her major milestones. Her musical style has been described as eclectic and she affirmed that she varies in styles, jumping from folk and blues to humorous or sometimes sentimental pieces. According to her website, she relates to the leading Beatles, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, since their musical career was never confined to a one genre.
“When I think of the variety in their music, it’s mind-boggling that so many different stories in so many different styles came from one band and even coexisted on the same albums,” she says in her online bio. “That assures me that it’s okay for me to do that. You can’t deny what you hear in your head.”
Beth Durr goes simply by, B but she stated that her family is well known in the area. She stated her songs reflect the changes she went through during her life and the songs she wrote while she was going through them. She described the concert as an “An audio-B-ography.”
Tickets are $10 for general admission. The doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7:00pm, located at the Sheldon Community Arts Hanger.
