WASILLA — A Palmer woman featured in the new documentary “Blackfish” will answer questions about her experience as former SeaWorld trainer after showings of the movie at the Valley Cinema Friday and Saturday.
Sam Berg spoke about her experience as a 22-year-old working at SeaWorld that are the basis for her inclusion in the film at a Palmer Lions Club meeting Sept. 10. She recalled the tragic death of Dawn Brancheau at SeaWorld in February 2010 and described how it led to her involvement in the 2013 documentary
“The moment I saw the photo of Dawn and heard what the company was saying I realized I was one of a few people in the world who knew SeaWorld was lying,” she told the Lions Club last month.

“Blackfish” will show at Valley Cinema Oct. 18 to Oct. 24 at 3:25 p.m., 5:50 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
Palmer resident and former SeaWorld trainer Sam Berg will participate in a question and answer session after the 5:50 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. showings on Oct. 18 and 19.
Berg spoke at a similar event when the film showed Sept. 30 at the Beartooth Theater Pub in Anchorage.
