Big Lake fall fishing derby is Sept. 27-28

The Big Lake Chamber Fall Family Fishing Derby is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 27 and 28 at Burkeshore Marina. Ticket are on sale at the marina. The derby includes $10,000 in cash and prizes as well as free boat bags filled with goodies for the first 100 adult derby participants that check in at Burkeshore derby morning. Tickets include entry into the derby, a raffle drawing, free boat launch and parking at Burkeshore Marina. An after party begins at Floaters at 4:30 p.m. both days and the awards ceremony takes place there Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Categories include trout, Dolly Varden, women’s, veterans and kids. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children. The top three adult winners will be entered to win a Tracker boat.
