Boy hospitalized with life-threatening gunshot wound

BUTTE — A 15-year-old boy was flown by emergency helicopter to an area hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries from a gunshot wound to his head.

Alaska State Troopers and emergency responders were called to the scene around 10 p.m., Jan. 29, trooper spokesperson Megan Peters said.

She said no foul is suspected and no one else is believe to be involved in the incident.

It is the policy of Alaska law enforcement and the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman not to report the names of minors.
